I’m sorry if I’m intruding on anyone. I haven’t been diagnosed with secondaries but am currently in limbo waiting on a bone scan. I have shoulder pain so I went to my surgeon who ordered a bone scan because she suspects mets. I came to have a look on the forum for similar situations and it was only then that I found a connection with shoulder pain and liver mets. I’ve read a few things that made me stop in my tracks. I hadn’t associated some of the symptoms I get as anything to do with cancer until I ready a few bits on Liver mets.
For example, for months now I’ve suffered intermittently with heartburn and bloatedness, I can only manage small portions with my meals or I feel like I’ve got a ball stuck between the ‘v’ of my ribs and I just generally feel full up top. Today I feel as though there is a piece of cardboard wedged up under my ribs on the right and it’s uncomfortable (not painful) to bend and the bottom ribs feel pushed out.
I have the shoulder pain that feels like it’s coming from within the bone, it feels tender if I push on a certain spot and the pain is more of a burning ache than a stabbing.
Does this sound familiar to anyone, should I go to my gp to check my liver?

Try not to worry too much until you get the bone scan done and results are in for definate.
The body is a strange thing …it picks up on your stress and creates a lot of panic.
Once the scan results are in …you will know exactly what you are dealing with. I get loads of heartburn since I had chemo way back in 2004 as it can leave a weak stomach lining etc.

These symptoms are all fairly new to me though. I’ve only ever suffered with heartburn when I’ve been pregnant (which I am currently not).
I am trying to push the waiting out of mind. I just hoped that someone might have some insight for me
I would definitely get checked. I had severe shoulder pain down to middle of back on right side. I went to the doctor for months to solve. Turns out it was breast cancer mets to my liver - 75% tumor coverage. Please get checked is my advice. Good luck to you.
Hi ladies. So it’s been a while since I last posted. I got the results of the bone scan which came back clear and the consultant sent me packing. The pain hasn’t gone away but I now know is muscular and not from within the bone. Good news but not fixed. More recently I’ve had breathing issues and now cramp in the mastectomy site which is new too. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all muscular and that I worry over nothing. A year after diagnosis a cat scan picked up 7 large nodes under my sternum and I also had a non cancerous mass which was removed. My issues could also, I suppose be related to that. Either way I will chat with the consultant about everything on my next visit with her.
