Hello everyone-I’m not sure if I should be posting on here but I have been a little worried!
I have had a painful shoulder for a few years now and after finally getting refered have had a MRI scan-it showed bone oedema on my collar bone, breast cyst and in the letter the specialist sent to my Doctor and copied to me, it said I have a couple of small lymph nodes in the axilla-does anyone know what this means-am I being really stupid or is it linked to cancer-does everyone have these???
Sorry if you all think I’m being really stupid but I can’t stop worrying about it for some reason!!! Why would the letter say I have a couple of small lymph nodes in the axilla if it’s normal???
Sorry I don’t have any clear answers. But you need to get your doctors to explain them to you. Nodes are odd things and can be enlarged for a number of reasons but you need to know what follow up there will be from this letter. Hope you get some answers soon. Debx
Thanks, The confusing part for me is the letter said a couple of small lymph nodes in the axilla (a couple & small being the confusing part)-I thought everyone had lymph nodes in the axilla (armpit) so why did he see the need to mention it???
When he showed me the scan pictures and talked about my shoulder and the bone oedema-I asked about what the circles were and he just said you have a breast cyst and there lymph nodes it’s nothing to worry about. Maybe he said they were small to indicate they were not enlarged??? Just a weird way of putting it???
I dont want to worry you but feel i should tell you that my cancer was found in lymph nodes and they said the original breast cancer had disappeared - but not before “seeding”
However i could feel the nodes DEEP down and they were very large. These tumours that disappear (occult) are very rare so it is unlikely but…
So ask all the questions, and if in doubt for more checks. Good luck
I would suggest that any cyst is biopsied. I had a “cyst” in 2008. It wasn’t biopsied and it grew. Needless to say, last year I was told it wasn’t a cyst. Dont mean to scare you, but insist they test further, otherwise you will always worry.
Hi, can I ask you if your bowels changed-I do suffer with IBS anyway but over the last couple of months my bowels have really changed and I have had white mucus, been sick a few times (I hadn’t been sick for about 10 years before this)which was a brown grainy sick with a buring painful stomach!!!
I haven’t been to the Docs as I seem to be going a lot lately over my shoulder pain, feeling so tired and just not right and my Doc told me (after bloods coming back normal-they thought it might be arthritis) that there’s nothing wrong with me and I need to get on with my life. Luckily my physio sent me to the hospital for my shoulder and hopefully that will get sorted-they have pre-booked me in for a arthroscopy but have to see how the next MRI is.
I kind of feel like something is just not right but have been trying to forget about it until I saw the MRI scan with the cyst and bone oedema and then the letter saying a couple of small lymph nodes in the axilla.
I have to go back Thursday for the MRI and then will see the specialist so I will ask all my questions-they kind of make you feel like your going mad-when I sure the cyst I asked him straight could it be cancer and he said no it has clear fliud in it!!!
Just want to say thank you so much-you are all going through your own journeys much worse than mine and you still take the time to post-thank you xxx
Hi, I went to see the one of the Doctors under the consultant today and one of the first things he asked me was have I had breast cancer before???
Considering I an seeing him about my shoulder what a stupid worrying question! I said no and he went on to say that my lymph nodes were fighting something-I aksed about the breast cyst and he said a lot of people get cysts but if I was worried I should go back to my Doctor-What do you think I should do??? My Doctor is useless and already thinks I’m a hypercondriac-even though I need an op on my shoulder in a couple of weeks. There not going to do a bone byopsy on my collarbone now as the scans all looked ok so they are going to sort the impingement and are still not sure whats causing the collarbone oedema???
I was so shocked I didn’t really ask why he asked me if I had had cancer-I know a bit stupid of me!!!
Hello everyone, I have now been to the breast clinic and was checked over by the consultant and had to have a mammogram and ultra sound and was told that it was deffinately a cyst. However, I have just had a letter to go back for a follow up, so I was just wondering is a follow up appointment usual to have??? Thanks guys
