Covid 19 vaccine

Hi sorry I didn’t know who oe where to ask this but I see on another post that you had a Facebook session re the covid vaccine, I’m not on FB.

Just wondered what the general consensus/ advice is currently for us. I had my last cycle of chemo on the 15th Jan ( this finished 2 treatments early because of continued worsening side effects).

My BCN advised me today to let my immune system build up before having the vaccine and as I have to self isolate 10 days before surgery ( probably having surgery at the end of Feb), I am tending to think to wait until after surgery, any thoughts? Please redirect this if needed thanks in advance.

Hi nickik

Here is the Facebook session we organised recently - you should be able to see it even if you don’t have a Facebook account: www.facebook.com/breastcancernow/videos/132478852050564

We have this blog which may be useful too: breastcancernow.org/about-us/news-personal-stories/can-i-have-coronavirus-vaccine-if-i%E2%80%99ve-had-breast-cancer-treatment

Have you considered calling our breast care nurses? You can reach us on freephone 0808 800 6000 (Mon-Fri 9am-4m; Sat 9am-1pm). Please don’t think twice about calling - our team is always happy to talk things through.

Sending our love
