Hi I am going in on Monday for a CT guided biopsy of a spinal lesion under GA and they tell me I will be in for three days. I have just been diagnosed with probably secondary to the bone 4 years out from left IDC hormonally positive. They want to confirm the histology before fixing the fracture in my spine. Then it will be on to possible radiotherapy to spine and then starting drug treatment. Oncologist was quite positive about possible survival in terms of years so I can get my head around that for the moment. Has anyone had this procedure or know any one who has? It is all so daunting. I have zero info about it just a phone call telling me to come on Monday. I am trying to stay calm and tell myself they are the experts and they are but even so … I am sending positive thoughts and love to all of us battling on xx
Hi Catokitty
I hope the procedure today goes well. If you are able, please let us know how you got on.

Hi there,
Ive had something similar. Four years ago I was diagnosed with bone mets 16 years after my primary. My L5 vertebrae had collapsed and I had a procedure called Vertebroplasty via ct scan where they took a biopsy then filled the collapsed vertebrae with cement. I was sedated but not a full GA. I was never in pain and the recovery time was a few weeks but mainly stiffness in the lower back. I took Exemestane fir 3 years and am now on Faslodex after a progression. You have every reason to be optimistic, there are many treatments out there and bone mets very treatable.
let us know how you get on
