Daily seromas 20 months after surgery

Hello

Just wondering if anyone else has had this and if so any advice on what to do.

I developed a seroma 3 months after having a mastectomy and implant in November 2019 and they have continued pretty much everyday. I have never had to have them drained but wear breast pads 24hrs every day to collect the fluid.

Over the Easter period just gone I got an infection where I had my mastectomy and implant and my breast swelled and it was really hot and I developed  a lump. I was put on antibiotics.

Since having the infection I am still getting seromas but now the liquid is coming out of the scars and the scars are now a blue colour.

I saw my surgeon 6 months ago and he had never seen a seroma continue for this long. I’m due to see him again next month for a review on this.

If anyone has had any similar issues I would be really interested to know and the outcome and if you managed to get them resolved and should I be asking my surgeon certain questions.

In short any help and advice would be really appreciated

Thanks

Cheffy

I had surgery in November as my implant had encapsulated.  Had been fine up until then but after surgery got seromas that kept bursting out of wound.  They said it was because radiated skin was rubbish.  After numerous restitching and 2 more surgeries they had to remove implant. Problem solved immediately.  Have to decide now what to do next - talking flaps, try implant again or take whole breast off.  Need a break so living with my shrivelled mess and a breast form for now.  Hope you get sorted :crossed_fingers:
