Hi girls That was locked quickly did I miss any messages?
Jakki did you get to speak to Corrine? Don’t know how they justify charging that amount of money for a copy of your own notes mind you banks do the same sort of thing don’t they charge you for stuff that’s yours in the first place.
Hope you girls are all ok it’s quite possible you missed my post from last night nothing important in there but was wondering how you were.
Hopefully get the chance to pop on later to see if there’s anything going on.
Bye for now

I’m back Hi Girls
Well me and Jules had a really lovely day at the Healthy Living day, its was very relaxing - i especially loved the reflexology and i am going to book myself in for some to help with the bone pains. Jules and I were in the same workshops so that was nice and we didnt escape the film crew!
Al - I think you would of loved it, so wish you would of come, one lady came wasn’t on the list and 2 didnt turn up. We will have to get that LGFB day booked in for when you finish your rads. How are you today? Are you all set for monday?
Karen - How are you now with that infection? Hope its cleared up now and you are feeling much better. Make sure you take as much time that is needed from work to recover.
Helen - hope alls well with your sister today, i’m definately up for our next night out . Make sure you chillout this weekend, sounds like you’ve been a busy little bee like Julie.
Kim - Good luck with the suit shopping, i’m sure you’ll get sorted out fairly quickly.
Julie - Thanks for a lovely day and make sure you chillout too, hope today has recharged your batteries!!
Going out for a curry tonight with our neighbours, so looking forward to that.
Have a super duper weekend everyone
Love and hugs to you all

al
Thanks BCC Hi girls,
Jakki has already filled you in a little, but a lovely day was hosted by BCC. The food was lovely, sessions useful and we met some lovely people. Eh jakki? Before Jakki spills the beans I had 11/2 puds although some other people had 2!
I did manage to lose 3 lbs last week.
Both sessions that were filmed involved our group. We even managed to nod off during the reiki.
Al and kim you know how you take Jakki a cake when you pop round, well I pinched her tea! Thanks jakki it went down a treat.
A lady I met at radiotherapy was there and two ladies you and I had met Kim at butterflies were there.
Also several of the ladies from stoke who had fought for herceptin.
Kim good luck with the suit hunting. I was dreading trying to find one for my son but I was surprised how quickly and easily we did it. Hope you are having a lovely night tonight.
Helen hope you are having a great time too. My meal is correct, will send deposit with daughter on monday. Let us know how your sister got on and is progressing?
Al good luck for Monday. Sorry to hear you are still poorly hope those antibiotics get on top of it soon.
Jakki good luck for Monday and hope you get the answers you deserve. Hope you had a lovely weekend up north.
Karen how are you now? Don’t get rushing back to work. It will still be there. I made that mistake.
I really am going to try and have a quiet weekend. Husband working tomorrow so lots of me time. Yes it is my daughters birthday sunday so will try to spend some time with her.
Well I feel really tired, all that relaxation, so will sign off now.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to.
Julie xx
Doesnt get any better for me… Hi Girls
Just a quickie, dont really feel like sitting on the PC, got a glass of wine calling out for me… boy feel like i need it tonight…
Saw Dr B and he’s confirmed that the FISH tests came back as positive and i need herceptin. I expected him to say it will be for a year but he’s shocked me and ive got to have it for life. I really dont how to feel right now…
I’m pleased that i can have it but not so much with the thought of treatment for the rest of my life and it worries me that my cancer is so agressive that it warrants it indefinately.
I’ll send you an email
Take care

Hi Everyone Hello Everyone
Just a quickie to see how everyone is doing? Thanks for all of the emails. I hope that you all had a great weekend. I hope that Helen and Kim are feeling better. I was sorry to learn that you both had been poorly. Helen, I am glad that your sister is doing well and will be home on wednesday. I bet that you are all glad that her op is behind her. I hope she has a speedy recovery. How is your Dad? I hope that you are able to take a couple of days off take care of yourself. It sounds like you had picked up quite a nasty flu.
Kim, Your night out and your curry sounded lovely. I hope that you are feeling better. I am amazed that despite being so poorly, you were able to go out to get your son a suit. A Mom’s work is never done! I hope your Rob had a great time in Scotland. I think mountain climbing would be so exciting. I am a bit of a chicken, so i think i would fall off the slope or something.
Julie, How are you doing? I am glad that you were able to have a relaxing weekend for a change. I hope that your daughter had a lovely birthday. Your lunch sounded really nice.
Al, I am so glad that the hospital was quiet. I hope you were able to talk to them about your chest. I hope that you will be able to sit and rest for a bit before you come home and then hopefully, you won’t have any of the dizziness that you had this morning. Take it easy, and I will be thinking of you.
Jakki, I am so glad that i was able to talk to you tonight. I understand that the herceptin for life can seem a bit overwhelming at the moment. I think that once you get used to the idea, it will just be incorporated into your routine. We can hope that at some point soon, herceptin would be available in tablet form like tamoxifen and we could just pop a tablet!! Wouldn’t that be amazing. I am also putting on my wish list that we could find a cure for this blasted BC and we could just have a shot and this would all be behind us and we could get on with our lives.
All the best to you all
and will email you later
love
karen

Howdy! Hi everyone
Just a quickie from me, to say Hi.
Not much going on for me today except my bloods this morning and then physio this afternoon.
We had a crackin thunderstorm here with pouring rain this morning, did any of you have one? Not much dog walking for me today.
My Mom and dad went off to malta yesterday, i miss them already, cant wait till they phone tonight.
Al - like you say 2 down - 23 to go, keep counting them down. It is uncomfy but just think to yourself that your lying on a sunbed getting a tan! It will be all over for you soon and you can start scourring holiday brochures and book yourself a nice holiday!!
Hope everyone else is ok, i have to go as i need to get ready and get up to the hospital - just for a change!!
Be back on later to chat more as Robs working late

Afternoon Good afternoon
Well, what has today been like!! we had another storm later this morning - i am terrified of them especially when i am on my own and almost ended up in tears as i was so scared - no laughing at me girls!!
Ali - ordered you that top from Figleaves as i rang the shop in stafford and they hadn’t got one in white which i figured would be the most practical, so its on its way to your address as we speak! Hope you find it comfy and its a gift from me to you so i dont want the money!! Hope your ok and relaxing now after rads number 3.
Helen - glad your sister is doing well, i am suffering more and more with the hot sweats, i must have at least 2 every blooming hour! Ive just ordered a chillow pillow to help me at night - hope it works. Glad you too are feeling better, dont blame you for staying off an extra day, hope you are chilling out., by the way - have you just nominated Julie to organise the next night out? Oh helen - you are naughty!!
Julie - Thanks for your email with the info on the MUGA scan, i will hounding you for advice i’m sure. I will be the fattie at the Christmas party with the steriods i’m taking and the sweet tooth ive developed! Good on you for losing weight - not that you need to!
Kim - How are you? Are you still having the pains with the gallstones? You havent mentioned them for a while and just wondered if its any better or worse?
Karen - Did you get your wound checked out? I hope everything is fine with you and that you are having better weather in canada than us here in the UK.
So, this night out on the 30th? where are we off to? And more to the point who is organising it? I dont mind but can you at least give me some suggestions ( by email).
Well, i am going to go and bake a Jane Asher Lemon Drizzle cake thats been in my cupboard for about a month. Got my sis coming over tonight so will go down a treat, may have 1 sneaky glass of wine with it too - but just the one! Al - I am blaming you for my sweet tooth that i have developed - oh and Kim - you haven’t helped either!!! ha ha!
Also got to take my steroids too, expect i will be awake all night.
Take care everyone and no doubt i will either report in later on tomorrow when ive had the taxotere number 3!
Loads a luv
Jak

Evening girls I think we should make it a rule that none of us look slim for the xmas do so Jakki keep eating the cakes and Julie stop losing the weight!
I should be ok for the 30th and you know I am not fussed where I eat.
Jakki my gallstones just seem ridiculous(spelling) in light of what you are all going through and I don’t think they are any worse I have allsorts of odd symptoms as we all do and don’t understand what’s going on with my body anymore butI will do something about it if they become worse or more persistant.
Ali another one down my love I didn’t have rads so can’t pretend to know how it is.
Helen good to hear your sister is home. Good for you for taking a couple of days off to recover.
Julie I was thinking myself on Monday night good job we decided not to do that night. Hopefully we will all be ok for the next date it already seems ages since I seen you all.
Jakki you will be mingling with the media again tomorrow make sure they get your good side He He!!! Will be thinking of you hope it all goes smoothly.
Hi Karen how are you now. Apparently we had a storm around 7.15 this morning but I slept through it even though I had to be up for 7.30 Do you get lots and lots of snow in the winter or am I the wrong side of Canada?
Did any of you watch Trinny and Susanah - what did you think? I don’t like the pair myself.
Take care all
Love Kimxx
Trinny & susannah Hi Kim
Yep i watched it last night, i’m not a huge fan of thiers either but thought they handled the situation quite sensitivley compared to how they normally are.
Thought susannah could of covered up a bit more, it was as if she was rubbing it in having her rather generous cleveage on show.
Anyway, thought it was agood show and really felt for frosso.

Hi Everyone!!
Just thought I would pop on and catch up. Just got back from the doctors. Seems as though things never go according to plan but far be it for me to complain. I know that things can always get worse. I had a pocket of infection that ruptured and now i appear to be leaking. Sorry to be rather graphic. I don’t want to offend anyone. The doctor is such a lovely man and i just adore him. He is so kind to all of his patients. I have finished the antibiotics and now just have to continue to do my dressing 4 times a day. I think that will be quite lovely when i return to work.
I am glad that Helen and Kim have recovered from the flu. I am glad Helen that you were able to take the extra day off and rest. Kim have you gone back to work ? I hope that you are also able to take it easy and get lots of rest as this flu seemed very nasty. Kim, I hope that those nasty gallstones are not giving you grief.
Julie, Great job of losing those pounds. I wish I could. I need to go to the gym more, I think. Or stop eating sweets, but who am I kidding to think I could stop eating sweets. I guess I am destined to be a fatty. When I went to the doctors they weighed me and announced that i am 2 pounds heavier now than i was a year ago. I guess i better get it off before it becomes a stone and I can’t get through the front door!!! I am sure that you all will look awesome in your fancy Xmas frocks. I would like to see the snaps ok?
Jakki, I am so worried about you after talking to you. I hope that you are doing as well as you can. I am glad that after tomorrow you will be half done. We have to celebrate these milestones to help us through this. Hang in there .
Ali, I am glad that you are doing well with your radiation. We will all be doing the count down with you. The time does seem to get on with having the rads every day doesn’t it. I hope that you have the aloe vera creme. Like Helen said, it is so soothing and I was told to keep my jar in the fridge so that when you apply it to your skin it feels cool and this give you an extra soothing effect.
Helen, I am so pleased that your sister is home and doing well.
Jakki, I forgot to tell you but my Mom is also in Malta. She left last friday and is in Valetta. They are then making there way over to Greece and then a cruise along the Mediterranean. I think the vacation will do her good because she has had so much worry with all of my surgeries and bc etc.
I am thinking of all of you and sending a few cyber hugs across the pond!!
love
karen
3 down to 3 to go! Half way there for me girls!!!
Had my third one today and the chemo unit appeared to be so understaffed.
They sent me in with the doctor first as they always do and he said - right are you ready for your first herceptin?
I saw errr - no - i havent had my MUGA scan as yet, he said oh - i thought you had had it - lack of communcation or what???
Anyway, my MUGA is now booked for the 27th Oct ready to start my next chemo on 2nd Nov with the Herceptin.
The film crew werent allowed in, much to the disgust of the poor lady who has been filmed all through her treatment apart from actually having it, it was her last one today so it was a real shame, she is going to complain and i dont blame her, they said it wasnt fair on the other patients but they had plenty of notice and there were lots of secluded corners they could of used, seems a lame excuse to me, she is going to mention her disapointment in the hospital in the documentary.
Said i’d keep in touch with her as i want to know how she gets on with her baby, she also has to have rads too - most probably the same time as me after xmas.
Anyway, i’m feeling ok at the moment, been having some stiff back pains since yesterday but think thats down to my physio.
Hope your all ok, Ali - another rads done? Tick if off the list!!
Karen - What a coincidence your mom is in Malta!! I spoke to mine yesterday and she said the weather is lovely and warm and sunny, they were going in the sea today!!
Kim, Helen and Julie - hope you are all well now, back to work eh? Hope your not dashing about too much.
Going to go now as ive my fingers are pressing the wrong keys and i’ve spell checked this loads.
Take care
Love Jak

Hi girls,
been having loads of problems with the computer cutting out after you’ve just logged on. Grrrr! Not sure if I’ve mended it or just having a lucky moment. Anyway making the most of it.
Well done Jakki, halfway there. I know I’m not the one having it but it does seem to be going quite quickly. Thank goodness. Good luck with your MUGA, I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Al - hope you are ok. You seem very quiet, for you that is.The radio will soon pass, just think next week you will be in the teens. The worst part is it’s restrictive in that you can’t go away as it’s daily.
Kim glad you are recovered now. Hope Rob managed to climb those mountains. I guess you managed to find ashleys suit, hope he was thankful.
Helen- deposits have been deposited. Hope you are now well. Is your sister home and progressing?
Karen hope that wound has stopped leaking. You aren’t actually going into work whilst it’s still leaking are you? I can talk though I’m the worlds worst. Hence the reason I made the decision to stay off for the duration of my chemo or I would have struggled in. Hope your mum is having a lovely holiday, yours too Jakki.
Think I may have another quiet weekend ahead. weather forecast good so will try another run, see if I’ve improved any by going to the gym.
You needn’t worry about my being slim, think I’ve stayed the same this week. weigh in this morning. Will try harder next week.
Herceptin No 5 Monday. Will ask if they have made any progress with setting up the home service.
At the healthy living day we found out the reason why you get to have it at home. It is cheaper as there is no VAT if you have it at home compared to hospital.
Just watching the weather forecast, foggy so will have to allow a little more time today.
Anyway must do a few jobs before work.
Have a lovely weekend if you are able.
Take Care,
Love Julie xx
Have a great weekend Hi Everyone
Just thought i would pop on and wish everyone a wonderful weekend.
I hope that you are having better weather than we are at the moment. We have had terrible rain storms but the icing on the cake is this morning we had snow!!! It came down like the heavens had opened up. I can’t believe it as we usually escape the snow until November. It is so cold over here now. It seems like only last week, I was complaining of the heat. Am i every happy?
Kim, Good luck with the redecorating this weekend. I hope you will get through it alright. If you find that you are getting too stressed, then i think some chocolate might be in order.
Julie, I hope that you are able to take some time out for a wee rest this weekend. You are an inspiration to me and I think i should be out running this weekend with you. I am off work for another week as I worry about working with patients with an open wound in my chest. All it takes, is one germ and I don’t want to be laid up with another infection. They aren’t happy at work but oh well. They said i need to have a doctors note and then the blasted surgery charged me 15 pounds for a 2line note!!! Good luck with your herceptin on monday.
Helen, Sounds like you are off for a lovely weekend. I am so pleased that your sister is doing so well. I am also glad that Kim and Helen are feeling so much better.
Al, 5 rads down and 20 to go. I hope that you are doing well. It seems like it will go on forever but hang in there. The time will pass really quickly and before you know it, you will be all done.
How is your chest and your arm? I hope that the rad has not effected you chest too much.
Jakki Congratulations at being half done. I hope that you are not feeling poorly with the taxotere flu symptoms. I hope that they gave you some more pain tablets so you can keep yourself pain free. I wish that i could do your Muga scan for you since I do alot of those in a day. There are several ways to do a muga scan but i found that no matter which way they do it at your hospital, it isn’t too bad a test.
I am sure it will go well.
take care everyone and have a great weekend
karen
