Dandelion coffee

Someone suggested i drink dandelion coffee as it helps keeps cancer cells out, has anyone else heard or used this? If so does it taste like coffee?

I am always wary of anyone saying a food helps keeps cancer at bay. But at any rate if you want to try it ask your oncologist. Preliminary reading says that it can interfere with certain medications.

Hi, I have never heard of it and it may be harmless but I think if dandelion coffee helped kill cancer we’d all be on a prescription. People say these things, they’re just trying to be helpful. I agree that if you want to try it you should check with your oncologist.

If you Google Memorial Sloan Kettering herbal database it will give you a lot more information about dandelion and it’s benefits side effects and interactions with other drugs . I’ve always known dandelion to be a diuretic that is it makes you pass more urine . I can remember drinking fizzy dandelion and burdock when I was a kid and liking it but I’ve never had dandelion coffee. Herbs and supplements become a bit of a minefield if you’ve had cancer or are on medication and if you are going to have herbs etc it’s usually better to eat or drink them than take as a supplement which will be a much more concentrated form. You could ask the person who told you where they got their information from and see if there’s anything credible in this claim .

Hey, I have been looking into alternative treatments since my original diagnosis. I’m a big believer. I wish I had used it the first time round but even the mention of alternative medicine and I would be immediately shut down by oncologists.

Since then I have done a lot more research and would be confident to use it if a next time prevails (scan next week to see if it’s returned)
As effective as it is, the thing with dandelion tea is it can actually accelerate the formation of some hormone sensitive cancers as it influences the activity of oestrogen. So be wary and do your research.
Also look into medicinal mushrooms and research people like Chris wark and Jennifer Simmons.
I also came across an article that suggests dog wormer (with active ingredient of fenbendazole) can cure cancer and is proven to. I have already ordered some in case of bad news. If it means living longer or coming across as a silly fool I choose life!
All the best
