Darling buddies from May - moving on

Hi,
spent hours and days and nights preparing and the b s didn’t come to see me so had to do the same all over again tonight and will see if I get an unwelcome visit tomorrow! Kids have paid for Victor and I to go away for a surprise weekend. We don’t know where, just that we leave this friday and as I get car sick it is under 2 hours drive. I am very excited about this as we have a series of envelopes to open but start with just a postcode for the satnav.
Ooooh never been on a mystery before.
Val how did you get on? Everyone else, will talk more (ok I heard that chuckle)later
lily x

Hi all,

had a catch up and wow Lisa you must be so hacked off with the differing advice really horrible but take Peacock’s advice she has been through it all and still says it is worth doing. Gook luck with the decision making and hoping this time you get the care you should have already received.

Lily just think not long and then you can spend as much time as you like with your grandchildren (I can’t wait to be in that position and hoping it will happen in the next couple of years) and you can spend time on organising your new kitchen. What lovely kids you have organising a surprise trip what a great idea and have fun!

Nicky you sound as if you have been very busy with the socializing 3 a.m.? I really can’t do nights as late as that anymore about 1 a.m. is my limit as after a few glasses of wine I fall asleep as you can imagine not great company!

Peacock my garden is beginning to look a bit better as I have been able to get out there and do some tidying up I went to Hampton Court Flower show and it spurred me on! Egarding your daughter I always use to suffer terribly from period problems to the point of being sick and wishing to pass out and later on I was told it can be eased by magnesium supplements so may be worth investigating. Also the other week in the news here there was an article about a new product that could be bought over the counter to ease the problem and it appeared to have really good results sorry I can’t recall the name but again a bit of internet searching may come up with it. I feel for her it is just horrible and effects so may areas life.

We had a swarm of bees descend upon us on Sunday fascinating to watch they formed a huge hanging basket from our cherry tree. We had a bee keeper around to collect them as they wouldn’t have survived where they had landed and he was really pleased as apparently it is a good sign that things are on the up for bees! so glad to hear something is doing well.

Val hope the Onc visit went well.

The business is coming along but we are still manically busy so difficulty in pacing ourselves but I guess it will be like that for a few months yet. At least it is better to be busy than sitting twiddling our thumbs!

love to all Bev x

Carumba,
took me ages to find our post, oh silent ones! Well the b you know who have gone and yes they terrorised me. I got the nasty one watching me, typical but it was fine and the whole school passed with flying colours so brownie points and chocs for all of us. Such stress though I was shattered.
So just for a little more stree ha ha we have appointed builders and they hopw to start next week, BEFORE I break up so Victor will hopefully get the noisy scary piling while I am at work :)We now have a million urgent things to prepare just as we are away for the weekend. Will need a rest!
Lovely to hear your news Bev and it is always good news when a business is busy I guess. Hope it continues to do well.
Val how are you doing, any news to share?
Peacock just wondering if your building work is moving again, I hope so.
Nicky when’s the next trip!!How are you getting on with your big family home 24 / 7?
Lisa also wondering how your healing is going and returning to work, hope you are not too tired.
Lily x

Yes Lily I do have news. I am now to have a bone scan, staging again, plus a brain scan. I am going back to my 3 weekly infusion for bone strengthening which will mean I can take my painkillers before I get out of bed (instead of sitting upright for an hour after taking that drug called Bondronate every morning).
I have a very low HB and it may be that my body is struggling in the bone marrow production and that could be the reason I feel so tired and can only walk on the flat ground. I can only go upstairs on my hands and knees now. Coming down is easier. So she took more bloods and she will get back to me.
My GP suggested Physiotherapy but asked me to discuss with my Oncologist to see if that would be ok to arrange. Also may get a more appropriate walking stick. The day after I saw her I tripped off the kerb stones trying to avoid 3 dogs walking on a pavement and jarred my leg when I stumbled and the pain up my thigh was awful. Yesterday I stumbled again in the house and did the same again. Although they can find nothing on my last 2 MRI Scans and Xrays I just know my body and something is definately wrong. I just know it. Perhaps we will get to the bottom of it before too long. It has gone on far too long and all that they can offer was an increase of Gabapentin.
It was intersting to hear that my iron level was low as I have been aware that I am running out of puff and that everything becomes more of an effort. I so want to do simple stuff but keep having to sit down in between.
But I have been getting out and about and was watching the tall ships at Gourock on the West Coast on Tuesday. The best ship was the “Gloria” from Columbia. All the sails were up ( perhaps a dozen or more) and all the sailors who were dressed in yellow, then red, then black (Colours of their flag which was raised at the stern) stood on the yard arms(Horizontal bits from mast) and saluted the “port” and the ship gave several “hoots” to say “goodbye” to the port. It was a beautiful sunny day with blue skies so was a day to treasure in my memory.
Mentally I am feeling great and not at all down ( must be the class A drugs they fill me with)…but hey ho…must have some perks!
Planning on making a Quiche with a salad today. A lovely side salad dish I often make is…apple, cucumber and banana, chopped into bite sized pieces and a dollop of yoghurt and a little mayo. Try it as it is better than it sounds.
Love to all on here. I have read your posts and send lots of hugs, Val

Hi everyone

Val, thank you for posting your news I was getting a bit concerned to hear how your visit went on Monday. When was the last bone scan you had, I’m not sure what you mean about “staging”, is this with chemo being in mind again? A brain scan sounds scary, but hope you get the appointments for these quickly so you can get the best treatment option. Sorry that you are tripping over, is that because your leg is playing up or are you naturally clumsy (like me)? I like the sound of your fruit salad dish, I’ll give that a try as I’m always looking for something to brighten up an ordinary salad.

Nicky, your late night on Friday night would play havoc with me, even though I don’t sleep well I like to be in bed by 11 ish, but usually watch TV (yes I know it’s not a good thing before bed but for me it is company as I am alone so much) but at least you had some help with tidying up so didn’t have to face it the next morning.

Bev thanks for your advice about the new tablet, I’ve been searching on google but haven’t found the name of it yet. She has been having a period for some 8 weeks now with no signs of it stopping! The gynae gave her some pills that are meant to make it stop but after a week of taking them they haven’t worked yet. So you’ve been keeping the bee population all to yourself have you? Like Lily says I think it’s good news that you are busy with business.

Lily I am sure that all your hard work at school contributed to it getting a good pass, now you can go away this weekend and relax! How lovely of your children to surprise you with a mystery trip, can’t wait to hear where you went. Have a great weekend.

Lisa, how are you coping with work again, hope you are not too tired and stressed. I still haven’t managed to find you on FB.

Well how about the news of the 16 dalmations? Aren’t they lovely – I just want them all! Another bit of news that interested me is about the butterflies, normally we see loads but don’t seem to have had so many this year.

No news concerning the house which is disappointing us. The roof was meant to go on 3 weeks ago but nothing has happened, we’ve tried chasing the Project Manager (doesn’t that sound posh) but only get fobbed off each time we have a query, I’m told this is typical with French professionals.

Well not much has been happening here, so not much news to relay for now so have a good weekend everyone, love Carole xx

apilogies on mobile computer playing up. val sounds likr you are suffering. the joys of tablets to i had bone strengtheners daily and fine the moved me to cheaper weekly brand and was ill. now on monthly so not as bad.

sounds like normal builders carole eh.

lily and nicky have nice weekend xx

Hi,
Val well that sounds like a lot of checking up for you again. With low haemoglobin even the journey and waiting will wear you out so try to rest up a bit beforehand. I was wondering whether increasing your iron count daily by eating more iron rich foods would help give you energy in the short term at least. I think I might have suggested that before! Then I remembered that the uptake of iron depends on you also having certain vitamins so might be worth reading up a bit. The falling hurts I know as I tripped over the pup and even landing on carpet hurt enough for me, nice carpet burn to the knee. Victor said ‘what on earth are you doing?’ Well there is no polite response to that one! I know they will check balance problems out automatically. It must have been hard to put down in words that anxious thought that you feel yourself that something is not right. You sound like you are accepting that it needs investigating and I think you are right and being sensible. Not knowing what is going on can be a blessing but then you run the risk of missing the chance to try another treatment, which as we know might just hold it in its tracks for a good period of time. Well done for being brave and I hope to hear that they will use this information productively to offer you a plan of action. By the way the tall ships!! I felt like I was there so thank you x. Keep us posted when you go so our cyber fingers can all cross for you as always.
peacock I was hoping to hear the house was zooming along, it must be frustrating waiting. I hope Uk builders are not the same!Yes I am verye xcited by the trip. We are not travelling very far at all so we sort of have an idea of a few places it might be. It better not be a tent as I hate them, especially insects in them! I bought an insect zapper and son is desperately waiting for a fly to invade our space so he can attack it. Meanwhile he practises on my plants!!!
Well hi to everyone else and will be off for a few days I guess.
Take care
Lily x

Hi ladies - lovely to catch up on all the news. OH and I went away for an overnight stay in The New Forest - his suggestion as he’s getting cabin fever  We had some lovely weather and did loads of walking - which was the purpose of our mini trip. A few years back a friend gave me a book about pub walks in Hampshire and up to now, with both D’s at home, we hadn’t done any. But now they are gone we have a bit more time to plan and I have set our ‘challenge’ to complete all of them this year! We started off just fine, then had a lull due to hols and uni pickups but I can safely say we are back on track. Which is more than I can say for yesterday’s walk which did not have very clear instructions at all! We did have a lovely walk but the mileage was completely wrong (therefore a much longer walk than we anticipated) and the ‘markers’ pretty vague so we missed a few and had to double back. Frustrating but still nice to be out walking in lovely weather and scenery. So, that’s where I’ve been! Had to drop YD at the station first thing on Weds to catch a train to Gatwick, as we’re fed up driving there, then off we went. ED has gone back up to L’boro this weekend for some extra work so we’re back to an empty house again. Quite nice in fact as everything stays the way it was rather than being piled up with clothes/shoes/magazines/washing!
So, onto all your news.
Lily - glad the Ofsted went so well - shame about the stress it causes each time. How lovely though that you have a mystery weekend away  Spill the beans when you’re back. Good that the kitchen/extension is getting started and Victor can oversee the noisy bit LOL
Val - I’d read on the Bone Mets thread about your appt and scans that you are having done. I know what you mean about ‘knowing’ things aren’t right however I hope that you are proved wrong or that anything that shows up can be dealt with in the least intrusive way possible. Fingers and toes crossed for you xx How lovely your description of the Tall Ships. Years ago when my 2 D’s were very small we saw them in Liverpool where we stayed with relatives, they are so impressive and we were allowed on some of the ships as they were docked there. I remember the Russian ship we went on that had loads of fish filleted and hanging up, drying in the sun - presumably they had caught them en route and were using them for the rest of their trip. I’m glad you are generally upbeat - it isn’t easy when you have a lot of pain but the little things in life can really cheer us up can’t they? Let’s hope you have some lovely things to look forward to to keep your spirits up.
Lisa - hope you are coping being back at work, don’t overdo it, you are still recovering. Have you any special nights out planned in the Summer? You always seem to be at concerts and going out with your mates so I hope you have. Also, any news on a decision about the way forward with your recon? I’m sure you’ll do what’s right for you.
Carole - how frustrating about the builders - does sound very French to me! I hope they don’t take August off which a lot of the French do (or so I understand) Any veg coming along at the moment? Our courgettes are doing really well, plus carrots and spring onions. Toms are way behind but hope they produce some good fruit in the end. I’ve given up on my potatoes, I think they are just in the wrong place and I’m tempted to pull them up even before they produce anything as they are taking over that particular bed and I could be growing other things instead.
Bev - glad you are busy at work but it’s a double edged sword isn’t it? When OH started his own business many years ago it was very frustrating that he couldn’t take any time off for ages when the business was growing. I hope you manage some down time over the summer.
Well, hope I’ve not missed anyone (or their news) apologies if I have. Have a lovely weekend everyone and hope the sun shines (not looking that it will in this corner of the Uk!)
Nicky xx

Hi,
well back from a wet but very enjoyable mystery weekend. As promised it was not far, so no worries about travel sickness. We stayed near Woodbridge in Suffolk in a b & b with our own sort of suite of rooms. It rained a lot but we managed to drive and eat when raining and dash out and look around when only raining a little! Great weather for getting Victor to the shops though
have agood week
Lily x

oh lily sounds like fun though. apologies all as on mobile. nicky sounds like fun too.

val got all crossed for you x

had nice weekend took my dad to rugby at wigan was nice. before i went rang hosputal and said want to meet surgeon and going for tummy op again.

hospital check up in morning wierd how tummy goes each time.

love to all

hi all, get a better catch up tomorrow as so tired today, check up went okay, moved to annual check up now and only just realised no more mamos for me now.

Off to bed well before long then refreshed i can read all the posts tomorrow and have a good catch up with you all xxx

Hi,
Lisa glad your check wemt ok, was that for the surgery? When you say you are on annual checks is that for everything or will you still see the onc? I know your hospital has often been different from mine, I was just shocked that you said that so soon after surgery. But I am really glad if they are happy with you.
Val how are you getting on? Are you waiting for appointments for scans to check how things are? Thinking of you x.
Nicky I think you must know the route to the airports without even thinking these days, you are all so often travelling. I love the new forest and we went 3 or 4 times and usually managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and be chased by either horses or cows. I think the cows were most scarey.
Well this is the last week of school so I am valliantly trying to ignore pleas for fun and to keep beavering away at the syllabus. My class won the trip so we are off to a theme park on wednesday. They are so excited and I am thinking travel sickness and a long day so not very enthusiastic. Will have to buy some tablets for this trip as I can’t go to sleep when in charge of the sick bucket! Then a downward slide to half day closing on friday and then a nice long holiday at home. Hope someone has told the pup I expect a lie in!
Lily x

Your weekend away to woodbridge sounded lovely did you visit soutwold? there is a lovely pier there. Not long to go now and you can be a lady of leisure of a while enjoy it while it lasts!

Lisa so glad to hear you are obviously making a very speedy recover but take care not to over things. Like Lily I was surprised that you are on yearly checks now so soon after surgery but I guess that means all has gone according to plan so well done you.

Nicky sounding as if you are being kept having fun having short breaks. I love doing that I think going away for a couple of days sometimes is easier and does me more good than a weeks holiday (I hate packing!) Thanks thinks are going o.k.here just a bit manic at times but I guess that is the nature of things for a while.

Peacock hope you are well and enjoying some sunshine unlike us with all the rain!

Val hoping you are o.k. and the scans are over with.

I had my bloods taken today so hoping to learn sometime next week whether I have now crossed over into the post meno stage so I can switch drugs. It may be completely unfounded and I am just getting fatter! but I am really hoping once I come off the Tamoxifen I may be able to lose a bit of weight which just seems to be impossible at present however hard I try. Really frustrating as o/h keeps informing me of how much weight he has lost since doing more physical work aghhhh! am I interested???

We went to a mini festival (our friends organise) on Sat night really amazing as they now have a few hundred people attend and the groups mostly play for free as they raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and so far over the years they have raised over £40,000 just incredible as it all started from a few of us going to a fancy dress BBQ just shows how things can develop.

Take care all.

love Bev xx

Hi Everyone, Keep reading your posts. So I have not abandoned you. Just not much to say.
I am going for 2 CT scans on Wednesday next week so I did not have toi wait too long. Still awaiting bone scan appointment. No word back yet re blood results. Had a problem with mets. Between GP and Pharmacy. I was at Go and requested around 6 drugs, popped into box at surgery, the week before last. have been back to Lloyds Pharmacy a several times as GP gave me wrong mg of Gabapentin. Today i went back to pharmacy. She told me GP (not mine) would NOT give me the 300mg I needed. ( I have been on this for months and months!). So I have to take back the refused prescription to the gP. Spoke to receptionist. She went to speak to duty doctor. I was told to wait. Well half an hour later the duty doctor called me it and we sorted it all out. She saod “you don’t need all this running around with what you are dealing with right now”. Well is just agrred. Got pills now…it has only taken me 12 days to sort out! Think I will just go to my own GP next time…so frustrating and exhausting.
Anyway I have been marinating a chicken with spices etc and tandoorie chicken is on the menu here tonight…anyone want to join us? Love you all, thanks fro listening to my moans, Val

Evening all

Lisa, what a relief for you that all was well with your hospital visit, and now you are on yearly visits? I seem to only see my Onc about once a year he is such a busy man.

Nicky a round the region trip to visit pubs sounds like my idea of fun, can I come too? At least the bad UK weather hasn’t affected your rambling trips but you must be dodging the showers. I love the New Forest, in fact Mr P and myself spent our honeymoon weekend in a New Forest Hotel, and we went to a dog friendly one as we had only just got our new “friend” a week before our wedding. He was a lovely dog, lots of character and revelled in all the attention, as did the other dogs, sitting by the log fire in the honeymoon hotel.

Val I hope you get your blood results back sooner than later, at least your scans are next week so not long to wait but, what a palaver you had getting your medication, unbelievable. Hope you don’t get that aggro next time. I could taste the chicken tandoori from over here, and very nice it was too!

Bev, no chance with the weather here it is like April showers! Lots of heavy rain showers, then half an hour later it is sunny and warm, but then soon starts clouding over and we go through the whole process again. I’ve certainly topped up the buckets and bins with rainwater for all the houseplants. Sounds like your mini festival is very popular, well what a good cause. I hope you get good blood results, will it be better for you once you are off tamox?? Being an HER2 lady I haven’t had to take the hormonals (however I do feel I could do with some now and again just to keep the cogs going LOL).

Lily hope you have a good day with not too boisterous children on Wednesday at the theme park, which one are you going? Some of the rides I see advertised look horrendous, but it’s not my sort of thing. I like fast and bumpy on the ground but keep away from the white knuckle rides. Now I can hear a few titters about what I’ve just said but nothing meant, honestly, other than about fairground rides. Good luck with the lay ins and puppy.

Well I have been doing loads of housework, my house has never looked so tidy and in consequence my back is now aching. When I’m doing internet work I put off doing housework but as I haven’t had any internet work for a couple of weeks I am getting pretty bored so go about and look for things to do. The wooden structure for the roof is sitting waiting at our field and I hope by the next time I write I can say that the roof is on – we’ll see.

Take care xxxxx

Hi,
Peacock I remember the last roof going on and it is a big moment as it makes it all seem so much nearer.Well I am off to thorpe park and most definitely not going on the scarey rides. They seem to hurt these days!! Might be me. Ha ha yes I was amused by the fast and bumpy. Housework well just as I find myself approaching normal days with time to do this, I find the house will be full of builders so whats the point! I always find a credible excuse lol.Wish the sun would come out here too, especially tomorrow. When do you start picking things like bathrooms and tiles? I am struggling to decide on tiles, any ideas?
Val hi , glad you come on so we know how you are doing. Wrestling with the doctors from the sound of it. They always pick a bad time don’t they. Why are you having 2 CT scans, is it to cover your whole body as the 2 I have had were only for part of it? You haven’t really said whats going on and I am not sure whether it is because you would like some time out of thinking about it when you post, but I wouldn’t want you to think you couldn’t because you can, anything. I know I could count on you if I needed to get it off my chest and just get my worries out so I just want to let you know that we are all here for you. Anyway see how you feel. I am loving the food talk of course, well done. What did you have with it as i am a particular potato fan? Sausage casserole and jacket pots over here  Take care x
Bev we did not get to Southwold this time but it is a favourite of ours. I like to have lunch on the pier. They tried for a b and b there but a local festival had made it really busy. I enjoyed Snape maltings and we visited Ipswich for essential shopping ( ha ha) and Felixstowe and threw lots of money away on the amusements and also went to Aldeburgh but too wet to get out. The weight is def stuck while on tam so fingers crossed you will be off it soon.
Lisa and Nicky can you 2 say when you can’t meet and I will work from that point. Anyone else going to come?
Lily x

bumped me, copied for first time in ages thank god…

have a nice day all and okay for those on count down to a long break from work.

Hope everyone bearing up been thinking of you all lots but just tired with work full time.

My check up was at local hospital very different here, I have only seen onc twice in 3.5 years, once to get prognosis and once when rads finished, seen his assistant between each chemo. After this we just see a staff grade nurse (who was one of m surgeons) or breast care nurse for check up, touch and feel and see how you are going. Then it moves from 3 months, to 6 months and now annaul as dont need mamo anymore either, very strange isnt it never have bloods or anything done since chemo apart from to do with operations so hoping thats okay.

Good luck with scans tomorrow Val and Bev hope you can move off tamoxafin.

Lily hope that sick bucket doesnt need used and Nicky sounds like you had nice few days too. Peacock hope the house is coming along…

p.s. think im free most times apart from 6th August xx

Hi,
no sick buckets as I took half a joyrider tablet and talked all the way there!! The things I have to do! I did get rather wet twice though on water rides and the lady I spent the day with let go and fell on the floor of the boat in the middle of the rapids and scared the life out of me. She was also kind enough (or didn’t realise, not sure which) to sit in the front on the log flume and so when I heard her shout and the wall of water come over her head, gave me time to avoid most of it. We had quite a few chuckles and spent some happy time on the less scarey ride waving to kids we knew going past. She really wanted to go on the horse ride but was a bit disappointed when it was rather childish. So I said oh come on lets go on it anyway. You should have seen us! Neither of us could get our leg up high enough to reach the foot rest. Then when we did we weren’t strong enough to drag our bodies onto the horses. We eventually found horses with pedals low enough for us to just get on but still with some fairly energetic leg swinging and cramp! She said whats the matter with my horse? When I looked she had got on a very small pony and was pinned to the horse’s head because the saddle was so small. She also nearly got me on one of the scarey loop the loop rides (which I am far too scared to go on) by telling me it was a nice one and a bit of fun! It had 10 scarey moments according to the board outside! I said to her 'I wouldn’t have been speaking to you before we got to the 8th if you had got me on that and thats if I had not had heart failure by then! She said I don’t think I would have been talking to myself by then!! So we were well suited in tastes, both in rides and restaurant stops. We both won cuddly toys and pretended to the kids that we had shot a basket from 4 metres straight into the net in one go. They were terribly impressed and believed us! Pretty wacked out tonight.
Sorry Lisa, got my own back at last ha ha. I think all the oncs have different ideas and budgets and do the best for their patients. There is a lot to be said for not having constant checkups as they do make you wonder and they are always on my calender so a constant reminder. Cannot remember what Nick said about dates in August?
Hugs all round buddies
Lily x

Hi ladies
Sorry for the lack of posts from me but I am suffering from ‘husband at home’ syndrome  Not good for getting on the pc I’m afraid. If I don’t grab it first thing, like today, I have no chance. So, I hope I don’t miss anything out on this post that you’ve all said as it’s been a while since I last had a good read.
Lisa - don’t wear yourself out lovey, I know you always work really hard but you must give yourself time to recover from your op. As to the checkups I guess that sounds about right as you are over 3 years post dx. I did stay on 6 monthly appts alternating with onc and surgeon for nearly 5 years and, as you don’t need mammos, I suppose the 12 monthly one is the requirement. It is scary though when you feel you are not being ‘watched’. I feel like that now when my onc said at my last but one checkup that he would see me annually! Cripes! I managed to get him back to 6 monthly though.
Lily - sounds like you had an ‘interesting’ day LOL I do love theme parks and some of the bigger rides but I can’t now go on any with loops in them due to high BP which is a shame, still managed to do plenty of other ones though in Florida when we went a couple of years ago  Lucky you only half a day tomorrow and then off - can’t say it’s ‘summer’ though can you? What dismal weather! Date I can’t do in August are 1st weekend (6th?) and then middle weekend (13th?) other than that fairly free atm. Hope all the family are keeping well and Koko now understands what a lie in consists of otherwise you’re in for early starts still!
Carole - hope the roof does go on soon, I expect it will all look like it’s coming together then. And, yes, you can join in our pub walks  Just let us know when you are around! Hope the weather cheers up for you as well. OH is a keen fan of Le Tour so we have been watching it over the past few weeks and it’s not been as hot and sunny as many years. Let’s see if they go through the snow today! ps, when you’ve finished with your housework can you pop over and do mine if you’re bored? Ha ha.
Bev - hope the blood test come back with a post menopausal result so you can switch from Tamoxifen which I know has been causing you problems. Glad your festival went well, I remember you mentioning it last year, how fantastic about the money that’s been raised. Even better that you can have fun when you do it
Val - hope you are keeping well and your leg isn’t causing too much grief, good luck with the scans (next week?) What a palaver with your medication though - doesn’t it drive you mad sometimes - or maybe all the time? BTW I loved the chicken - yum yum, I’ll repay the invitation and ask you round for Moroccan chicken that we are having tonight. ED bought back a load of spices from her holiday in Turkey so we (me!) are using them tonight to marinade the chicken and then make a sauce. Hope you don’t mind it a bit spicy?
ell, I hope I’ve mentioned all the news, sorry if not, I’ll kick OH off the pc quicker next time! I had a very hectic day anyway yesterday picking YD (and new BF) up from Luton airport - never been there before but the glorious orange building near the terminal reminded me that it’s the home of Easyjet! Got home, after a quick M & S stop to grab some lunch and then sort out a few things before both of them whizzed off down to the West Country for a friend’s 21st. So, having been away for a week, I get to see her for about 2 hours! Oh well, she’s here for a few weeks now which should be good and hopefully give her some time to chill out and catch up on sleep. ED is working hard doing her usual great job at Benefit makeup so although they are both ‘home’ from uni we don’t get to see them that much! Think that’s all from me for now, nothing exciting happening and really not liking the dismal weather :frowning:
Have a good remainder of the week - anyone got any plans for the weekend?
Nicky xxx

Hi,
well I am shocked Nick!!! There is an airport you haven’t been too. I don’t believe it;) I really thought you could do any airport run with your eyes shut these days.Well you will have to be forceful and introduce times for people to book to go on the computer. Isn’t this the time you take your tablet and have to wait? Lets hope he finds something he likes very soon so we can enjoy more posts! Thanks for the dates. I know the final week before school goes back will be tricky for me as we go back on the 1st sep. As for the weather rubbish at the moment!
Well it seems that ‘go’ to the building starting means that at any time you have to be on your guard as you could find a strange bloke on the property. This started off with planners who just came in and scared the life out of son. Mind you it was a wonder he even spotted them really. Then ED looked out this morning and an unknown man was doing ‘we don’t know what’ outside her window. Followed by the drillers who took a soil sample 30 feet down into the ground to test it. Very interesting but as they drill big wormy swirls of mud, etc all come out leaving the most fascinating thing for a puppy to find. A recently groomed perfectly clean fluffy puppy!!! Correction was clean!Clean puppy was followed by little chap who fell over while chasing the puppy through it. Little chap opened the door to tell someone, puppy got in, he chased her through the hallway. Ooooh my pale beige carpet"!Victor has been sent out to sort it out and has built a mountain of garden chairs and wheelbarrows over the mud. Looks like nothing you have seen before! I didn’t think it was the best time to tell him this especially as he had just spent 15 minutes tightening the badminton net, that I was going to ask him to take down! Might wait a week! Well hooray school finishes tomorrow followed by pizzas and farewells. Mext week fillings at the dentist and piling the foundations arggh. Also Ed has an interview at one of the well known national mags so we plan a day shopping up in London while there.
take care
