Ha I’m back again, not as sunny today , last two days in schools this week, loved it, was even visited by Ofsted. Only had one cryer and I like the cheeky ones. So, hoping to still be involved in September when we go into year 7 on week 3, really excited the school is my childhood school two mins from m house and they have been in special measures but have new head who is amazing and someone who n spires you and want us embedded in his business plan, just hope we can get some funding to provide it, aspirations are so low in west Cumbria, one of the lowest in the county so would love to make a difference. Well, have to fit it in with my own work, but maybe in future may get opp for new job, tempting…
so, what’s everyone up to? Not as much sun here today and my bite is still huge so in long trousers lol!!! How’s the sun in your areas?
xxxx
Oops crossed text! Thanks for advice been drinking loads of water, hoping it could by sinuses as Jaws aching today and felt sick, sick with jealousy too at your upcoming hols lily xx
Hi all
I just thought I would say “hi” if anyone remembers me
I haven’t been on this site for years and then I had a bit of a scare (well I was terrified) but it looks like it’s all fine - let’s hope it stays that way
I can’t believe your thread is still going … that’s incredible … it was very odd having a quick flick through and seeing all the old names on here
I can remember when the site was upgraded - it was really hard to use it at first but it seems so much better now
I am going to have a proper read and catch up on some news
cheers
FizBix
Hi FizBix
I remember you well! Thanks for popping in to say hello and hope your recent scare hs all gone away.
Hi to everyoe else on here, the weather is far too warm - or should I say HOT - to be outside so I’m sitting here catching up on the pc. Lisa - I hope all of your worries get put to rest and it’s nothing other than a virus. Believe me, I know how all of this can prey on your mind so I hope things get sorted soon.
Carole - we almost have your weather! Enjoying the T de F - boy do they ride on some extreme conditions!
Lily - enjoy the next few days and then off you go for 6 weeks - how lovely to spend that time with family and all the babies. Hope Victor is not getting too stressed.
Val - how is the weather in Scotland - it has been v warm I think but now looking a bit cooler.
Hoping for some breaks in the weather tomorrow when it’s ED’s Graduation - way too hot to be dressed up all posh so going for a nice summer dress and open sandals! OH is ditching the jacket/smart shirt idea as well - v different from YD’s ceremony earlier this year when we were freezing and it was snowing in Paris!
Nicky x
Hello ladies and welcome FizBix I remember you well from 2008! Glad your recent scare was all good in the end, I think the majority of us seem to get the odd moment which brings it all home. Pop in anytime for a natter if you want.
Lisa I posted a really long post to you last night and then went and lost it ggggrrrrrhhhh! Anyway, that bite sounds horrid, have you tried some cortisone cream on it? We get plenty of nasties here including spiders (Lily ), YD got bit by a spider a few years back, just under her eye and it left train tracks to the point of the bite, in only a few hours her eye was swollen. I get that sick with jealously feeling too so sympathise LOL. How could you, you’ve had lots of trips this year so far. With your enthusiasm for the school project it sounds like you can definitely make a difference.
Lily wishing your son better luck this time with his exam, our pups hasn’t been sick for 2 days now thankfully but I don’t think the 2nd lot of AB’s have worked as today she’s started peeing again . Another appt booked at the vets for Thursday - all I am beginning to see is Euro signs flashing before my eyes.
Nicky hope that you had a great day for the graduation.
Val hope all is going well for you in a sunny/not so sunny Scotland?
Very hot here again, I’m not complaining but it’s necessary to have fans going most of the time when sitting about I even took one out in the garden yesterday.
Mr P home tomorrow, it’s been a long 2 weeks for me but passes quickly for him.
Carole xx
Hi, wow fab to have lots of posts to read as I am a bit quiet here. Victor has flown to Scotland for a meeting, watch out Val he will be putting supermarkets everywhere. Hope you don’t have long front lawn Scream from Lily argggh a giant (well pretty big) beetle just landed on the keyboard and no-one here so I had to catch it! It is now mashed to make sure it can’t get back in! I cooked dinner for ED and wondered why she was so late, got the wrong day!!! I met son after work and he chose a very trendy suit for the wedding. Its tight with skinny legs and quite a deep blue. He looks a million dollars in it but not sure what an interviewer would think so hope he will get use out of it. I also stocked up with dog food, dog treats, a large amount of sun cream, after sun and medical stuff. I take everything and then i generally don’t need it. Hi Fiz well its good to hear from you but I was sorry to hear about your recent experience. Glad to hear it was ok phew. I recognised your name at once but I am wracking my brain to remember more about you. Was it you that didn’t tell anyone at work or where you lived because of your business so you didn’t have too much support, or was that someone else? Blasted chemo still plays havoc with some memories or maybe its middle age! Anyway pop in and say hi sometimes, we will still be around unless evreyone stops talking to me. Ok I hear you saying, that doesn’t usually stop me Nicky noo have a fab day at your daughter’s graduation, another lovely moment Sundress and sandals sound the best way to survive the heat. Crazy to have such extremes between the 2 girls’ days. I prefer the heat but take care with the sun, slap on some high factor just in case and have a wonderful time. We expect to hear all about it afterwards. Dare I tell Lisa it is cooking down here and has been every day. I am actually going on holiday with a tan already. This is bad as Victor suggested we could have saved our money and stayed here I can’t wait to jump in the enormous pool and float about all day, sorry to make some folks want to puke he he. Lisa the school work sounds so rewarding and you don’t have to tell me about the buzz of working in one, that’s why I work there. Some parts drive you mad but mostly its brilliant if you can just make a little difference to someone’s future. I had to write a reference for one of my tutees today and I thought it was nice to still be helping them, even though they are not mine any more. Lisa you sound chirpier so hoping you are on the way up from this. Keep smiling, love Lily xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi all, welcome fixbiz, welcome back, glad your okay, feel free to pop in anytime x
Nicky, have a fab time tomorrow, I’m sure you will shed a tear and look fab x
Lily, it’s hot here too, but overcast but ver clammy, it’s soooo hot at nights though, been sleeping with fan on as sooo warm.
Carole, glad dog hasn’t been stick xx
val, any cooking today?
nothing to report here, still out of sorts but back at docs on Thursday and damn bite isn’t doing anything, want to get bactoto swimming. Ut not risking it at mo xxxx
night allxxx
OMG Lily disaster with the beetle, hope it hasn’t got lots of friends on the rampage LOL. What a donut, cooking dinner for the wrong day. In case I don’t get on before you depart for hols, have a super time and well done getting the start to a tan. You go jumping in the pool and really enjoy it. I’ll try to not be sick ha ha. I think you’ve guessed right about Fiz – I think she lives/lived outside of the UK and because of whatever work she does/did she never said, well remembered.
Lisa good luck tomorrow when you see the dr, hope it is all nothing to be concerned about, is it any better.
Love to everyone else, still boiling here but had some freak weather whilst driving to the airport to pick Mr P up. One minute lots of hot sunshine, 32 degrees and 5 mins later torrential rain, down to 19 degrees – unbelievable strange weather.
Hi all, been docs and got an ear infection and prob sinusitis heads so bad today but feel bit less stressed by it all, sorry for all my twines xxxx son antibiotics xx
hope everyone’s doing okay x lily do you finish today or tomorrow?
nicky how did the graduation go?
carole, val, how’s the healike sweating like mad!!
See Lisa, we knew it wasn’t serious and so pleased for you that it is something simple, although unpleasant. Are you on AB’s now? Hope you feel better very soon.
Hi, well I’m a bit surprised to find my last post missing, wonder what happened to it? i did wish you luck Lisa but clearly, despite being a horrible condition, its a thumbs up overall. More tablets for you to take then. Hope it clears really soon buddy. Nick, I also sent you wishes for a lovely day at your daughter’s graduation, tell us how it went, waiting to hear all about it. Think I comiserated about the freak weather to you Carole. Was it a one off or has it happened again, very strange? I have been feeling a bit sad after the funeral but working my way through it and looking forward to my last day tomorrow and then going away. I am ok but people keep asking me why I am not laughing and joking, just don’t feel like it just yet 3 weeks to the wedding, that will definitely cheer me up thinking about that. I managed to find some lovely flat shoes in next in case I can’t keep going with my platform shoes. The flatties are pale pink sandals with small pink jewels on the straps and only £15 in Next sale. I feel better now I have an alternative pair to save me lol. Val are you ok? hugs to all Lily x
Lily your post was on here very strange.
Hey I’m not complaining nearly danced out althought didn’t mention my history as it was a locum, hoping tablets do trick the n I can stop worrying, although oohing compared to what some people are dealing with.
well all, here’s to another hot weekend and hope you have lovely hols lily, bet you will have fab tan for wedding xxx
Ha, Lily, the message eating glitch got you as well! I hope you remember how you teased me about a missing post a few months back! Anyway, as the others have said, its all on here so your thoughts and wishes were seen and read.
Lisa, glad to hear that antibiotics are the key to clearing up your problems, lets hope they help soon and get your thinking back on the straight and narrow.
Lily, sorry to hear about the funeral, always a sad occasion and difficult to explain to people who don’t know you have been to one and been affected by it. Last day, hooray, and the good at least continues for the start of the school holidays, unlike last year if I remember, when it turned horrible just as they started. Enjoy your floating in the pool, at least you’ll have one to hand to cool off in unlike all of us here, and there, who don’t have one! Really do not enjoy weather that continues like this, a small change would be nice although I’ve noticed the nights have been slightly cooler than earlier in the week. Needless to say graduation was boiling! It really was a ‘process’ of about 400 graduates in a large hall. All very pomp and ceremony but not very personal. I went outside to get some cool air for the beginning 200 awards as it was so hot inside and came back in to see ED get hers, which is what we were there for. Also, as ED hadn’t received the email about a reception in her faculty there as nothing to do afterwards so we had lunch in a very nice pub and then hit the road to come home. To be honest none of us were looking forward to the day, especially with the hot weather, travel, overnight accommodation etc but I’m so glad I was there for ED as I had been there for YD earlier in the year.
Val, hope the weather is being kind to you.
Carole, sounds your weather is all up and down! I remember once picking YD up from the airport, coming back from Paris, and driving from our house in bright sunshine and turnimotorways the motorway where the view ahead was darker and darker, and then driving into it! The temperature in the car changed by at least 5 degrees in a very short time, and it was so dark! V strange. We’re currently, as always, following the T d F, has it come anywhere near you this time? Again, v hot weather for the most part but a few downpours that have caused problems for the cyclists.
Have a good weekend everyone, way too hot for me to contemplate doing anything!
Nicky x
Hi, ok Nick I believe you about the disappearing message now I don’t understand how you read it as I still cannot see anything for wednesday??? Thanks for your kind thoughts and I am feeling cheery now as we had some more fab news. We have another grandchild on the way I am very excited and sending pink vibes ha ha. I don’t really mind at all as it is YD and she has had a very difficult time having had many complications and sad news before this happy event. She has to see a specialist but she is positive and feeling terrible, which is always a good sign. She surprised me with a scan photo of number 4 and I had not twigged at all this time. Bit tricky with the wedding dress now as it doesn’t fit so urgent and expensive side panels to be inserted!!! It is like a vicar’s calendar here with a funeral, a wedding and now a birth to look forward to. I have even been asked to a divorce celebration! Nicky even though it was hot, it was a special moment for the family and I am sure made your week. Whats next at the hospital? Keep me posted about your news as I hope to be able to get online sometimes. Good luck and keep smiling till I get back on here as I cannot swim that far!!! Lisa well done for having a horrible but very ordinary condition that makes you feel terrible - how crazy does that sound, but you know what I mean, so pleased for you Thanks too Carole for your good wishes. I should be able to log on tomorrow but a lot of celebrations too for all the birthdays we are missing while away. Did a lot of last minute shopping and found a fab large bottom shorts and top bikini set that holde everything in pretty well and is so multi coloured no eyes can settle on the key parts to avoid Also got 2 lovely pairs of longer shorts from BHS. Just what I have been looking for, for years - as comfy as mens shorts but ladies colours with longer legs to cover chubby knees and legs, loose and cool for the heat and in nice patterns and fabrics. Also got 2 evening dresses and 2 packs of M & S specials so I don’t need to do washing while away. So clearly middle age is well under way with comfort and covering key parts being the key factor in all purchases ha ha. Take care Lily x
Congratulations Lily and YD and everyone, what brilliant news and if she’s already outgrown her dress she must be a few months gone??? Shopping sounds great, I live in shorts and vest tops at the moment with the heat.
Nicky, England have done it again with the TdF, unfortunately this year it was nowhere near us but I think it passed the same route as when we saw it in 2004 (maybe 2005)? when it went passed our old house. We are lucky to have seen it twice now.
Oops, better get plugged in quickly, battery about to go
Hi well been for a lovley family meal in a pub and we managed to eat outside in the shade which made a nice change. Smiler was happy as he could run all over the place exploring and generally causing mischief if he could find it. He eats very few foods and is quite hard to persuade to eat much. Baby is under closer house rules and has to sit in his highchair and eat nicely and is not allowed to get down during a meal. His little face was a picture, watching his side kick loose and free but he is a really good eater and munched his way through 2 courses without too much complaint. They absolutely adore each other and chat away in a starnge language none of us understand but they both bable and then giggle their heads off. Really sweet to watch them together. YD has had 2 scans due to previous ectopics and it is past that worry part but she is feeling terrible. Like last time her bp falls through the floor and is only 90/50 even after the exertion of getting to the hospital so she is in danger of faints and her asthma has gone crazy too. I will be very glad to see her through this stage and feeling stronger. The meal was fab. I had lasagne, sweet potato fries that melted in my mouth and salad, then cookie dough ice cream on a cookie base, now feeling very over indulged Guess the bigger bikini bottoms will come in handy to hold it all in as I make a rapid dash for the safety of the water ha ha. Catch up soon. Good luck to anyone having appointments love Lily xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Lily
thanks for the PMs, I had already logged out yesterday by the time I read your latest news about even more babies, how fantastic. However feeling great sympathy for your YD, I struggled for 20 weeks with both of my pregnancies, awful nausea that wasn’t just restricted to the morning! Hope she feels better soon and all goes well, as I’m sure it will, also that the wedding dress fits! Don’t think I could have managed a big meal like you had, nice to see you are keeping up the good work though LOL
hi to everyone else, hope the hot weather we all seem to be getting isn’t causing any problems. I just keep out of the sun once it gets hot and open all the windows early in the morning to get as much cool air in as possible. Main appt for me this week, well the only one, is up to London tomorrow. I’m sure it will be a very uncomfortable day for travel, unless the cooler weather we had on Saturday comes back, but we will see what’s said about the heart side of things although don’t expect any main changes.
Have a good week whatever you are doing and wherever you are.
Nicky x
Just want to say hope all goes well Nicky let us know how you get on stay cool if you can.
Lisa how are you doing are you feeling better on the AB’s?
Very hot still for us got a mini digger tomorrow to help with backfilling the pool and shifting loads of rocks.
Hot hot hot here for the next week so will be glad when our pool is finally working.
Heidi has no urine infection now so waiting for the vet to advise what happens next.
Take care all xxxxx
