DCIS size vs tumour size

Hello Ladies, 

I received my pathology report today. Not too many changes from the biopsy report 5 months ago, but they have now reported on the DCIS that was found inside the tumour. In the report, they have added the size of the DCIS to to size of the tumour. Does somebody know why this is done if the DCIS is completely inside the rest of the tumour?
I am a bit puzzled
