Unicornmummygirl I’m also on a Thursday my next is due on 8/2. I didn’t know they did the Lgfg course at the hospice might take a look. xx
There’s a poster on the wall opposite the tv in the waiting room rabbit, there’s a local number on there to call. This is my second time going through chemo & I know last year the course always ran during my bad days. It’s a silly place to have the poster as behind the chairs but they’ve changed the layout of the waiting room.
Cathsin I’m not sure I’d want my husband doing my injections, he’s not very good with things like that!
Mamadeacs, hope you get some sleep after the steroids & good luck tomorrow.
Hope everyone’s side effects are manageable. Xx
Mamadeacs good luck for today, hope everyone else is doing ok. xx
Hope everyone is ok xx
Rabbit I sent you a pm as I had the LGFB number in my phone xx
Hope everyone has made it through chemo today with any reactions.
Without- bloomin phone!!!?
I survived today without a reaction and I am so so pleased I can’t tell you. Pre-med’ed to the hilt and docetaxel infusion over 4 hours instead of 1 and apart from one little episode of going dizzy I was good.
I had a massive shopping splurge after eek…,but I have gone from being a size 8/10 all my life to ballooning and needing a size 14. I know a 14 isn’t huge but it is when your wardrobe only has small stuff. I now have a few things to keep me happy. Also got some more eyeliners and an eyebrow pencil as I’m told my lashes and brows go straight away. Side effects sound grim but will cope as best I can.
Hope you are all feeling well xxx
On a really positive note…I don’t mind saying I was crapping myself last night and this morning and even a few tears about today but I got in there and stayed really calm and I’m proud of myself. That’s half way, 3 more to go.?
I wanted to set up a team for the Relay for Life in July and suggested it to a couple of friends two weeks ago…they have all got behind it and we now have 3 teams (45 people). I am so proud of them all. My wig I named Winnie so all the teams have Winnie in them; Winnie’s Warriors, Winnie’s Winners and Winnie’s Wino’s! This will mark the end of a troubled year. It’s also my birthday so it will be extra special and two days off my mammogram day that found the cancer. Xxx
Great news mamadeacs & Fiona! ??? xx
Excellent news Mamadeacs, well done hopefully you can relax now. xx
Great news Mama ???glad you treated yourself ? you definitely earned a few little treats. Fantastic effort on the teams too. Well Done ???
Mamadeacs ??so pleased for you that you got dr chemo ok (a wise lady who did this before us call the chemo an extra doctor as it really is the good guy) any extra weight will change me off after you are through chemo and think we all have those moments where we look in mirror and think who’s that? Have you done your look good feel better course yet? Get one booked as a treat, you get £200-£300 of free makeup and one lady on the threads got some jimmy choo perfume in hers too. Keep ???ladies you are ???Amazing and getting closer to ???shi xx
Great news for you Mamadeacs and you go girl on treating yourself! I think we all greatly deserve a little treat with each chemo cycle we do ?
I had EC cycle 3 yesterday and had the Sister administer the drugs slowly with 1.5ltrs of saline. Just had lots of painful vein irritation and a PICC line suggested for remaining 3 cycles. Have a meeting in 3 weeks with Onc as they are looking at possibly swapping me to Docxetactal which Im really not keen on after reading of side effects etc. and I do struggle with EC side effects.
After EC cycle yesterday had horrendous nausea, heartburn and tiredness (worse yet) but today I am on a diff cocktail of side effect management drugs - Lanzaprozole, Cyclizine and half steriod dose so see how I get on with those this cycle. I also start my 5 daily injections to boost my immune system!
Hope all you ladies are doing fine ??
Jo xx
Hi runaway girl. Well done getting through yesterday!! I have a picc which although the weekly flush is a pain, it’s great. I’ve still got a burn type scar on my arm from my first chemo in December. I find the docetaxol less harsh than the EC. Still the same heartburn, dry mouth, constipation, tiredness etc. I know some of the ladies who have had the reactions would disagree. It’s not as bad with the nausea though. I have akynzeo an hour prior as I was so, so sick on EC. Also doesn’t give that horrid spiky feeling to your face like the clear solution part gives. I used to hate that, really hurt my sinuses. I’m waffling but trying to reassure you…I think!!
Have a good weekend everyone xx
Am feeling good so having a couple of pink gins.
It’s a good feeling before chemo 3 on tuesday
Also feeling good before chemo 3 on Weds.
However, this morning have to drive an hour to a diff hosp for a CAT scan of the lungs - they say something ‘active’ there too, which is something else to worry about!
Had daughter and her new baby staying last week which was lovely, so there are some ups!
