So sorry to hear how upset you are! Completely understand why you feel that way. It will come back but it’s hard to think that far ahead when you are in the black hole. Sending you lots of love and positive vibes to get those taste buds back as soon as possible xx

Round 5 done .. one more to go. Goodness it feels so good saying that. However slight spanner in the works, maybe?!? I noticed that my haemoglobin levels have reduced over treatment. Today it has dropped to mid 90’s meaning I am anaemic - oh joy. They have said that if it drops below 90 then I will have to have a blood transfusion. Looks like I’m going to be eating lots of steak and spinach for the next 3 weeks - smothered in lots of flavour so I can actually mildly taste it

Hope today went well @whataloadof

Still awake at 12.30aM after waking up at 4am - bloody steroids

Well done @shell86, just one more to go. You’ve got this.

I’m still awake at 3.30am with no steroids. What’s my excuse! :grimacing:

My neutrophils are in a similar situation where they’ve become accumulatively too close to the cut off line. I just got away with it for round five and I need to ensure it doesn’t delay round six :grimacing:

Steak is one of the few things that actually tastes normal at the moment

Morning ladies anyone who’s had a mastectomy and reconstruction do you still wear a bra 24/7 I had mine back in October and still wearing a bra all the time but I’ve started with pain in my ā€˜good’ boob and it feels like it’s wear the bra sits underneath obviously the support bra is tighter at that side as the boob is bigger.. I’ve rang BCN for a call back as worried it’s something bad but also wondering if it’s because I’ve got the bra on all the time (can’t feel any lumps)

Have you had a look at the radiotherapy department? Apparently some hospitals put them there to be sensitive to other patients as not everyone will ever get to ring the bell from chemotherapy if you get me. Worth a look x

Hi everyone.

Been a while since I’ve posted. Had my 11th PC this week so one more to go until I start the EC which I am constantly stressing about. I think every week I ask the nurses different questions! PC has gone fine for me other than a few bits, night sweats are driving me mad and I’m now getting tingly toes. Is the best thing to just keep them moving and wiggling?

Also wanted to mention if anyone in the group is ages 18-45 I went along to the Breast cancer now ā€˜Younger people together’ a few weeks back. Highly recommend to anyone that can go. It was like the thread but better because you’re face to face with people. Although I was nervous about going, once I got there it was such a nice feeling being in a room with people that 1000% get how you’re feeling and what you’re going through. I learnt a lot too.

Apparently there is one in the children’s unit but I will just celebrate with my family when I get home. It’s just the end of Dox and carbo, I’ll still end up having something else on the ward for the rest of the year.

Apparently they did a poll when someone offered to fund the bell and the majority didn’t want it.

I’m sure I’ll end up sobbing when they put that final flush on or remove my cannula.

My toes are just starting to really bother me now on cycle 5 of 6 of TCHP. I thought the compression socks and gloves were working but maybe it’s not tight enough on my toes.

Wondering whether to wrap my feet in frozen peas for the last cycle

Oh well, a cry on the ward and a proper celebration at home. x

I didn’t even know wearing them in treatment would help prevent it. The nurse this week said when I swap after my last PC I probably won’t get it on EC. Who knows though? Surely once it’s kicked in it doesn’t just disappear? The peas would be a good look.
