Just wondering if any on there good days did any Decorating? Im having chemotherapy but got lots of jobs that needs doing! Its driving me nutty.
Did anyone paint or decorate there house?
I feel up to it on my good days.
Would love to get it done before christmas rolls in.
I know its bit of a weird post.
I haven’t done any decorating but I have done some sewing - quilting. I can’t see any reason why you shouldn’t if you feel up to it on the days when you feel better, which for me is in the third week. I would suggest that you plan small areas to do at a time so you don’t set out to paint/wallpaper a big room which you have to abandon half way through as that would be depressing I have found that I can do less than I think I will be able to as I get tired and have less stamina than usual. Also plan in lots of breaks for tea and cake!!!
Hi @jeml
I had a few good days during chemo and although I was very active before BC, gym, yoga, an office job on top of my ceramics business, I had to pace myself. I managed to do 2 craft fairs over my 20 weeks of chemo, not much compared to what I did last year but that was a nice distraction. i was making and decorating pieces on my good days, but could only manage 2 hours at a time, compared to my usual 10!
What I would say is listen to your body and don’t do too much. Anything you will manage to do will be a major achievement.
I hope chemo goes smoothly.
Take care,
marion
Thank you for the reply! Im only 33 so after around a week after chemo i have usually been okay again for around 2 week before next round.
Planning on decorating my kitchen and little girls room.
Just done all garden today cut grass etc.
Hope your well xx
We had loads of house stuff to do whilst I was on chemo, my only restriction was basically don’t lift too much overhead because of the picc line. If you feel good, why not?
