Deferred chemo

Hi,

I was diagnosed in January this year. Told I was oestrogen positive and her2 negative at the time.

After lumpectomy and mammoplasty the tumour was sent for further testing.now HER2 positive.

I was advised to have chemo which was due to start last Monday but my BP was raised so they referred me till tomorrow.

Contacted my gp and they increased my BP meds. It’s been down most of the weeek but up tonight and I’m worried chemo isn’t going to happen again. I am stressed about it which obviously doesn’t help.

I think it might be the steroid I have the day b4, putting it up.

Has anyone else had this situation

Hi

I had problems with my blood pressure throughout chemotherapy. However the nurses merely commented on how high it was and then went ahead anyway. I was having Herceptin injections so they put it down to a fear of needles (which is not true). I can’t remember my numbers but it was definitely always 100+ as the first number (the one my GP says should be about 90!)

Before my Herceptin injections I would try a bit of slow and steady breathing to stay calm. Not sure if it made any difference though

After I had finished chemo I went to the GP about something else. She checked my blood pressure and made me start on blood pressure medication, and I have been on it ever since. I had previously worn 24 hour monitoring equipment so was clearly a bit borderline for a few years.
