Denied Treatment

Hi Guys,

 

My wife has been denied treatment by the NHS.  She meets all of the criteria, but her Oncologist refuses to refer.  We have obtained second opinions privately from two respected consultants, and they have said not only is this the right treatment, but it should be paid for by the NHS.  One of them has written to my wifes oncologist urging her to change her opinion, and she won’t.

 

I now have to pay for the treatment privately at a cost of £15K  Obviously I am unhappy about this, and will progress it.  Fortunately I have the money to do this.

 

Has anyone had anything like this before and if so what action did you take?

Hiya, Im assuming your wife wants treatment outside of what has been recommended by the NHS Oncologist ?, I can’t see any reason they can refuse to treat her in the uk otherwise, do you mind me asking what treatment she will be having? It’s a bit  hard to answer without the full facts ?
