Deodorant after mastectomy/lymph node cearance

Hi
I use Sanex, especially kind if you loose your armpit hair, and over the long run, you wont need ever to worry about shaving again. It works with your body and is very cheap. I did coldcap so only lost 50% of my hair, i did have a good head of hair, now its grown back thicker and even curly, and Grey, but then i wanted to go grey naturally.
We were advised not to use hot water in the shower or for washing your hair until you are through Chemotherapy. I’ve had my lymph removed, but practise TTeam to re-awaken any nerves in the surrounding areas. Its now being used to help those having gone through a stroke. Google it. Linda Telllington, Tellington Touch or abbrev, TTeam. BVrilliant.
Take care andyou will be strong and get through this. WE all have. Lol Moonsox xx

I’m having my bathroom done next week and bought some Fresh wipes from QVC - luckily I can shower at work but don’t want to go on my days off just to shower. They contain Chlorhexidine but are gentle enough to use on people who are very poorly . I haven’t tried them but they have good reviews and are also available on Amazon. The unperfumed ones are suitable for intimate areas and the packet is small enough to fit easily in your handbag. Xx

Hi I changed to Wild deodrant available on subscription but also in many supermarkets now. I didn’t use any for at least two weeks and by then the Mitchum anti perspirant that I’d been using for years was out of my system. Changing from aluminium based one to a more natural can be quite smelly for a while.

I used Australian Bodycare Tea Tree wipes and wash to keep the smell at bay. Available on QVC. The wipes can be used all over and were really handy when in hospital or feeling too poorly for a shower or bath. Also excellent when out and about or with a dog.

Sorry to hear you are sore and stiff. Remember to do your exercises they will help but don’t beat yourself up if you can’t do what it says. Be guided by your body and take your time, you will get there eventually.

Take care and be kind to yourself.

Thankyou @naughty_boob I am expecting too much too soon, I never miss work through illness and am very independent. Taking time like this is alien to me. I know I have to prioritise myself. X

Hi nothing for the first couple of weeks. I also had clearance and find i dont sweat as much anyway. I really like the fussy range of natural deodorants and they are refillable. All the best.

@sve Thankyou. I see you had total node clearance also, I am still very painful, like a stiff heavy pain, almost fortight… how long does this intense discomfort last? X

Mine is a year ago and i still get a lot of soreness and stiffness under my arm. I had exercises given to me and slacked off from doing them a bit which i regret a bit. I still get that heaviness and i still have some numbness under my arm and its a year since my surgery. Apparently its normal. Take care
