Feeling very nervous today. I’m going for an MRI after finding developing asymmetry on mammogram and having some nipple bleeding. Good news is that ultrasound didn’t show anything, but still nervous that they are still pursuing an MRI.
Hi @teach4th it’s very stressful isn’t it? Whilst going for tests and waiting for results causes anxiety it is only right and proper that the medics get as much data and evidence as possible to determine what is causing your symptoms and therefore to work out what to do about them. The good news is that the majority of women who have tests of this sort do not have breast cancer. There are a number of things that can cause abnormalities. If, however, breast cancer is detected, in almost all cases, treatment is effective and the cancer is curable. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The ultrasound didn’t show anything to be worried about, the MRI will give an even clearer picture (literally). MRIs are often used to check for issues with breast lobules. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck with the MRI, feel free to come back and let us know how you got on.
Thank you. I never had the MRI. My insurance took too long approving it, so now it will be the 25th.
