Dexamethasone

hi - i’ve realised the pharmacist has given me one tablet short for my post chemo 3 twice a day 2mg.  Is that a problem? I’ll able to take tomorrow morning’s tablet but not lunchtime. I can’t get through to the MacMillan line. Thanks!

Hello rachel60

Thank you for your post over the weekend. We were closed due to staff training on Saturday so were unable to reply sooner.

You mention that you weren’t given enough dexamethasone tablets to complete your post-chemotherapy course yesterday. Hopefully you were able to contact your treatment team over the weekend on the hospital 24 hour contact number, or by calling NHS 111.

If you were not able to contact anyone over the weekend, it is important to call your treatment team this morning to let them know what has happened. They will be able to advise if you need to take an additional tablet or not.
