Hi Ceegra

I think the moderators will probably make your answer into a new thread on your behalf. No, not all bc’s get mastectomy a lot are ‘conservation’ surgery which keeps the majority of the breast. It depends on the size and the position of your tumour.

Good luck with your treatment, we are all here to give you lots of support.

Dear Ceegra

As Fushia suggested I have started a new thread for you so your post is seen by more users. I have titled your thread “Newly Diagnosed”.

Im feeling fine and go for my results at 3.00pm tommorow so will know more then. Being well looked after by my partner, and I hope you have all been improving in my absence, will let you know tommorow how I get on.

Hiya Jilliian, I had the same op on thurs and have my results on Tues. you sound really upbeat which is good. I’m up and down like a yoyo. Good look tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

Hi Julie. I am trying to be positive but I do no what you mean about being up and down, and have certainly had my down moments… Think the waiting is the worst thing, but Im just trying to focus on getting whatever treatment is necessary and getting back to normality. I have a friend who has gone through all the treatment and has come out the other side and is now great and back at work, so she has been a real help and inspiration to me and kept me smiling. I will be thinking of you on Tuesday and good luck. Try and stay positive, I know its hard but you are not alone, we are at the same stage so I will stay in touch and we will keep one another going.

Hi Julie and Jillian,

I have had my op (Tues 26th Jun) and am waiting for the results. I go on Thurs (12th). You are right, the waiting is the worst. I know what you mean about up and down, the tears come from nowhere, as I am not normally an emotional person it is really worrying. I keep thinking I am going mad, so it is nice to see that I am only as mad as everyone else!!!

Jillian - surely there is still more wine to be drunk - after all they have now emptied all yours out!!! Must be due a refill!!!

Good luck to both of you and I will be watching out for your results, let me know how you get on. Lots of love,
Tracy xx

Hi Jillian, Julie and bettyboo,

I just wanted to wish you all well for your follow-up appts this week. Waiting for results and stuff is a very scary and unnerving time for most of us and I can totally relate to what you must be feeling right now.

I got my results back in Apr and was shi*ting myself to be honest!! OH couldn’t come with me unfortunately so took my mum instead for some moral support! Was scared when they told me my tumour was 4cm, grade 3 and I had affected nodes, but my consultant was v.v.positive and upbeat and this helped me a lot. Was referred to oncologist and started chemo in may.

Whatever the results show I just want you to know that we are all here for you and we do know EXACTLY what you are going through. We will all get through this, no matter how tough it may seem at times.

I wish you anybody getting results this week all the best. Take care of yourselves and please let us know how you get on,

Kelly

Hi Everyone, Got my results this afternoon, I have Stage 2 with 2.5 out of 6 lymph node involvement, so have to have chemo, rads and tamoxifen. I am ok and I think I had already prepared myself for this result, by what the consultant had already told me, but Its suddenly hit home and I feel quite worn out tonight, so Im having a early night and I will be feeling much better tommorow I am sure. I see the oncologist next Monday at the local hospital when I have been I should have some more information. Thanks for all your messages I really appreciate them.

Hi Jillian,
At last - you can now start to plan your next step. I am sure with all of us behind you - you will stay positive (any doubts - crack open the wine). I logged on first thing as I was thinking about you. Do you have any idea when they want to start the chemo? Keep me posted on how you get on. sending lol
