Diagnosed, Im alone and don’t know what to think

Hello everyone,
I had to undergo a tru-cut biopsie of a lump i had in my breast and a swolen lymph node in my armpit without knowing they were there. Both were noticed after an MRI with contrast fluid (i could not feel the lymph node or the lump - they noticed it by coincidence since i went for another lump that i could feel but that turned out to be a milk node).

according to the MRI findings the lump had a size of 15,1 mm x 11,8 mm x 18,8 mm.

the doctor just told me that the biopsy showed it is cancer. I lost the ground from under my feet.

The earliest i can see a specialist is in 10 days.  This leaves me hanging with the news the doctor gave witch was the folowing:

  • it is cancer
  • ER score 8/8
  • PR score 7/8
  • C-erbB-2 2/3 (>10% cells)

can someone please say if these values are good or bad? Is c-erbB-2 the same as the the very aggresive HER2 positive cancer? Does the 2/3 mean stage 2?

There is no one for me to talk to or ask for help. I’m so afraid.

i have the feeling that the diagnosis is really bad…i still have to get a bone-scan, chest scan, blood examination. But since the cancer also sowed up in the lymph-node under my armpit i’m afraid beyond words.

hope someone could clarify the results a bit for me please.

Hi welcome to the forum , lots of support here . Sorry you have been left with so many questions , it’s very overwhelming in the beginning and like fitting a lot of jigsaw pieces together working out what’s going on and what your treatment is likely to be . We all just want our questions answered straight away but anxious waiting is unfortunately a big part of the early stages of a breast cancer diagnosis , it’s very frustrating and scary . You could ring the nurses on the helpline here in the morning ( think they are there til 1pm) and talk this through - they are very knowledgable and re-assuring . We are always here to chat . Best wishes Jill x
