I was diagnosed last week with a 2-3cm lump, don’t seem to know much else. Everyone on here seems to be so much better informed, knowing type and stage.
Pre op assessment next week. So many questions in my head.
Hi Lauraba
We’ve all been in your situation. The worst bit is the waiting around not knowing. Normally, it’s after the lump is removed and examined that they can give you more accurate information. I know you want to know but I’d rather have been kept waiting and they get it right than be told one thing and then something completely different afterwards which was the case with me.
I hope all goes well for you x
Hi Laura, I’m sorry for what you are going through at the moment. The diagnosis appointment is very stressful and you were probably only able to get 10% of the information stored ?
Did they give you a written letter with the details on it? You should also have contact details for your breast care nurse. Give her a ring to talk details through, that’s what they are there for. My pre op is this week also, so you are not alone on your journey ?
Kind regards, Nichola
Hello, I am new to chat forums and newly diagnosed with breast cancer, my lump is 19mm I’m told this is small, my surgeon has said he couldn’t feel anything under the armpit or see anything on the uss. The breast care nurse has said if you have to have bad news this is the best kind because caught early and its small, right now it seems like really bad news!!i have to decide whether to have s wide local excision or a mastectomy, how do I decide that? My emotions are all over the place and on s personal from I can’t bear to touch it or have it touched, help!
