Diagnosed on 2/18/2008 with Infiltrating Lobular Carcinoma

I was in shock for few days and couldn’t sleep.
I went through several tests past 2 weeks and the result was no metastasize to other organs…Thank Goodness…
Waiting period was just as painful and many thoughts just went through my mind.
I broke down one Sunday and asked my husband what he was going to do if I die.
I think it did somewhat good to me, I think I overcame the fear after that.
And now I’m ready to face whatever it comes and ready to fight it over.

Hi Yoshirin, I was like you the feeling of shock and then I was convinced I was going to die. I am 15 months down the line and it has got easier. Once you start treatment you will feel as if you are at least doing something. I still have black moments but on the whole I feel fine. The treatment does go quickly… well it did for me. Take care love Eileen

Thank you all for the encouraging and kind words.
I didn’t realize this site was based in UK.
I live in the US, but I don’t feel the distance from you.
My surgery is now schdule at beginning of April for masectomy for both breasts.
Further treatment from oncologist has not been informed yet.
I am reading books, checking web sites and trying to know what’s coming ahead of me.
I don’t have much fear about surgery, but I do have fear about side affects from treatments, especially Chemo therapy.
I have been healthy all my life until now, so I’m not sure if I can emptionally handle to see myself getting sick.

Hi Yoshirin, good luck with your surgery. I was quite surprised as I had very little pain and only needed to over the counter painkillers. The chemotherapy was different. I hated it but would have drunk a bucketful if it helped to kill stray cells. The time went very quickly it really is all blurred now as if a dream. I am 15 months since diagnosis and feel well. I am still on herceptin until August. I have always been healthy and found being ill difficult. take care love Eileen

Thank you eileen.
