Diagnosed today - but can't reply to any posts!!!!

Thank you so much for all the replies to my post, I’m just sorry I have not been able to reply hence the new post!!
Told the children (14 year old son and 10 year old daughter). My son was really with me and cracking jokes to relieve the tension, whereas my daughter listened and went to watch tv. They have both since gone to school and spoken to teachers and friends which is a great relief to me. My son in particular found out the first friend to ask him what was wrong has a mother in the same situation!
Now playing more waiting games as my CT scan is not until 28th May with results on 30th (PM appt so I will be worrying all day!!!). Terrified that it may have spread elsewhere and every ache or pain I feel is obviously cancer at the moment. I just want to get to the treatment stage but it seems to take so long.
I can’t believe how many women are going through this but you are all so strong and I’m sure this site will be a great help.
Many thanks for all your support and I hope I can get to a stage where I can do the same for others.

Hi Karen, sounds like we are both in the waiting game at present, MRI scan 23 May, then pre op for a sentinel biopsy, meeting to plan action 7 June. Feeling exactly same as you , every pain, headache or bump is now a worry. Treatment whatever it is will now be a relief. I am staying positve but obviously wobble at times, my children, 21 and 18 are both in middle of exams shich is difficult plus work in a school at this time is tough. Like you I can only admire all the positive support on here and hope to do the same. Take care Jane x

Hi Karen. So sorry you have been diagnosed with BC. You sound to be at the stages was in January this year. The waiting time is definitely the worst. Once you get results at least ou know what you are dealing with and can get started on the treatment. I had to have CT and MRi scans, luckily these were clear but SNB showed traces of cancer in my lymph nodes so had to start chemo before surgery.

Telling my daughters (14 and 12) was one of the hardest things I have had to do but they are dealing with things ok. I have tried to be honest with them and involve them where I can - they helped cut and shave my hair and even dyed it pink before I started to lose it!

I have my 5th chemo on Monday. I am on FEC-T so have 2nd Tax coming up. Have also started Herceptin as my tumour is triple positive. Them have surgery and recon booked in for 7th July before rads at end of August. Going to try and sneek a holiday in first!

Good luck with your results and treatment. PM me if ou need any further info or just a chat.

I’m sorry you’re in this boat. It’s an awful time…waiting. Just remember that there are a lot of us who have come thro’ this and are doing very well on the other side.
I’m 4 yrs past dx and am doing really well. You will too.
