Hi , I’m wondering if anyone can advise - I’m getting a bit confused with my mums breast cancer diagnosis .
She was diagnosed with Grade 2 IDC in her left breast - three small tumours , largest 18mm width . A letter from the consultant says it’s is hormone positive and HER2 negative / low . What does that mean ?
She has had a mastectomy and sentinel nose biopsy and we are waiting for the results for treatment advice . No lymph nodes showed cancer on an ultrasound .
Diagnosed after a biopsy on 18th Jan , masectomy done on 14th Feb
Hi @kellyb1 in all honesty I think it could be confusing and possibly unhelpful for any of us without appropriate medical expertise to give an opinion, even though most of us know our own histology. Could I suggest that you give the nurses a call from 9am on Monday on 0808 800 6000? I’m sure they’re the best people to answer your question and any further questions that may come up during the conversation. They’re lovely women who won’t rush you and I’m positive that they’ll give you some reassurance.
@kellyb1 you mum will also have been given a number to call the breast care nurses at her hospital. They will be able to clarify about her specific case x
