diarrhoea

Has anyone had pros with intermittent tummy upsets with some mild pain?I asked my gp and she said my system was still irritated by chemo and as long as no blood and no severe pain or constipation just treat symptoms and review if they change.I finished chemo in may so surely it cant be that.Of course I fear bowel cancer but gp says not those symptoms.See onc in 2 weeks so may mention it but wondered if any of you had similar experiences…Between bouts of d all is normal for several days[max 2 weeks]pain is more discomfort and not at all at night…Grateful for any help lol horace

Hi Horace

Yes indeed. Not so much diarrhoea as sudden attacks of cramps and just HAVE to go. It happens more or less daily since the taxotere. Had a really scary time having had lunch with colleagues last Friday. I walked back with them to the tube statuion, they left, and I had cramps! For the first time ever I charged for the nearest pub for help. No time to buy a coffee! Came out again and tried again - and guess what - happened all over again!. Got home safe in the end but could have been awful. Happens at home as well. We have an old house with steep stairs and only a downstairs bathroom . Often nearly kill myself in the rush. Same at duaghter-in-law’s place the other day. I am still on chemo by the way, so if it doesn’t stop I would get back to BC nurse in your shoes.
