Hi
I’m not expecting much of a response to this as I’ve been trawling forums and the interweb in general and can’t find anyone who has done this…but here goes…
I’m on 6 x FEC. Had first on 11th dec. Didn’t use cold cap as I was too distressed in general. Since then I’ve done more research and read that using cold cap can help your hair grow back faster after chemo. I haven’t had any hair loss as yet but I know thats to come even if I were to start using cold cap on 2nd chemo (31st Dec). But I just wondered if anyone out there had started using cold cap on second chemo and felt that their hair had grown back quicker after chemo?
I’ve also emailed Paxman cold caps to ask for their thoughts…so if anyone is interested I can let you know response
Hi angleblue
Thank you for sharing this with us. Please do post any information you are able to find for others to share. This sounds like an unusual situation, but others will be interested, I am sure.
Best wishes

Hi angleblue, I’ve read a lot about the cold cap but had decided against it due to migraines but I’d also read that some ladies had still lost a lot of there hair, so would be pleased to hear your findings, and if possible more information on your chemo and how your managing as I’m about to start within the next 3 weeks xx
Hello, I had AC chemo at the end of 2016 and lost all of my hair. I had a recurrence in 2017 which meant further chemo, I couldn’t bare the thought of losing my hair again so I used the cold cap, I had docetaxol and carboplatin almost 11 months after finishing the AC chemo. I kept most of my hair using the cold cap, I probably lost about 30% of the hair. A year later looking at the regrowth I honestly don’t think the hair grows any quicker than if you don’t cold cap. Possibly because I had a recurrence going on my hair grew slower, but the thick chunks of new hair I have don’t look any longer than when I was when I didn’t use the cold cap. I still lost eyelashes and eyebrows. Xx
