Difference in breasts after surgery

Hi, I had double macestomy and LD flap with implants (nipple & skin sparing) on 3rd Nov. The left breast that I previously had WLE and radiotherapy on approx. 4 and a half years ago is now noticeabily higher than the other one. They were the same directly after the op but my ‘good’ breast then dropped into a much more ‘natural’ position. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal?
I know it seems a bit silly and I shouldn’t expect things to be perfect but I’m getting really worked up about it.

I’ve also got a build up of fluid on the left side of my back which is currently being drained every week. Has anyone got any experience of this? (how long does it go on for? amy tips to improve etc?

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Adele

Hi,

I had single recon in may this year. as for the drainage, mine was drained 3 times, until the fluid finds another path to flow. no pain or discomfort. Was told nothin that I could do to help the process, had to wait for the body to catch on.

hope your body soon heals

take carexx

HI Adele, I Can’t help with your question, but just thought i’d let you know that I had the same op on 12th Nov, also having had radiotherapy 6 years ago on the left side. It’s only been just over a week since surgery, so not noticed any difference yet, but will let you know how I get on. And I hope they even up for you, maybe the other side with match up eventually?

Cheers,
Michaela
