I have asked twice now for copies of my pathology reports and still not got them. I have asked 2 different BC nurses, one ignored my request and the other said she would print them out and send them to me but 2 weeks later still nothing.
Who should I now approach to get them? I am being treated at Guys. Are some hospitals reluctant to provide these to patients?

I rang PALS and they gave me a telephone number to ring at the hospital. I asked for all of my pathology reports and also the scan results. I had to pay for them…it was £10…and they told me that it was £10 per request not £10 per report… So to let them build up instead of asking for them all individually.
You have a right to them so you should receive them whether the hospital is reluctant or not.

Hi Mary, I was diagnosed in 2007 when I went for my first meeting with Ocologist he said he would post my path report to me but I said I didn’t want to know all the details just wanted to get on with treatment lol but then a year after I decided I did want it and he got one of the nurses to print it out for me at my yearly check. Maybe the BCN did listen and will send it, they are usually very busy and so it may just take a bit of time. Or if you have your Oncologists secretary’s number you could ring and ask or your GP should be able to arrange it for you.
