Dimpling

Hi All

I wonder if anyone could describe dimpling.

I have developed a funny sort of dimple on my right breast, its on the inner/upper part near the breast bone. It’s about 1.5cm long and about 1cm wide, oval in shape. There is a slight indentation and the skin is a bit lighter in it. It is more obvious when I raise my arms. There is no lump.

When I 1st noticed it It was not always easy to see and it didn’t seem to show up in my bathroom mirror but it now seems more obvious - quite easily visible in all mirrors with or without arms raised.

I do have an old spot scar between my breasts and it looks similar to this except the spot scar is deeper and smaller and doesn’t seem to be changing. Mind thie one I’m asking about might not be changing (becoming more apparent) could be just that I know its there so is easier to find!

Any thoughts/ opinions would be appreciated.

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I’m sure lots of ladies on here will say the same as me, if you notice ANYTHING different/changes in your breast - get it checked out with your Gp, it could be nothing and not worth worrying about, but better to have it looked at and checked. You many find yourself imagine its getting bigger/changing - I did!, so have it looked at and put your mind at ease.

Sorry for not being much help really, but hope everything is ok

Tracey xx

Agree with above - ANY changes, you should get them checked. My first symptom was an itch at my nipple.
Best wishes

Hi
I did have dimpling with my lump ( but could also clearly feel a lump) . I didn’t notice it at first because it was actually under my breast. When I did realise that there was dimpling I lifted my breast up and cupped it as though it was in a bra- when I did that the dimpled area became really clear and was about two cm long and one cm wide. Squeezing my breast seemed to emphasise where it was- as I imagine this is where it was attached to the tissue and tumour. As the others have said you need a doctor to check you out if you are at all concerned or have noticed any changes to your breasts. Debx
