Thanks for your messages of support. Really appreciated reading them just now.
Had echo on wednesday which showed about a 1cm layer at the thickest of fluid so leaving it there for now. My heart function is about the same at 55 -60% so pleased.
They treated me for a chest infection this time instead of a non-existent line infection so got better quicker. It was only in my right lower lobe which is the usual place for my chest infections as the tumour makes that entrance narrow.
They’ve upped my water tablets and now got to take potassium supplements which taste disgusting.
I also had 2 units of blood which has made me feel better too.
Must go.
Thanks again
Kate

Glad you’re on your feet again Kate!
Hurrah! Welcome home Kate. Really pleased that they got on top of this one so quickly.
Can you eat a few bananas instead of the potassium tablets? I have been told I may need to take potassium because the trial drug I am on can have an effect on potassium levels, so I am religiously eating my way through the bananas instead of leaving them to go brown and squishy!
Much love
Deirdre
So pleased you are home Kate. Wotta girl!
I have to take potassium daily too … kidney thing which affects heart rate because my body gets rid of too much potassium, won’t go into it … but no Deirdre, bananas aren’t enough if you have really low potassium. They are good … orange juice too … for keeping potassium up should you have the occasional low but not for something more serious. I didn’t realise how important potassium is. Too little heart stops … too much heart attack… !!
Anyway Kate have a lovely Christmas with the family

Hi Kate
Glad you’re out of hospital and back home for Christmas. BTW I’m on potassium tablets as well (my levels have been low and I’m sure they contribute to my heart arrythmia) but they are sugar coated so definitely not unpleasant! However I guess you may be taking the potassium in liquid form if it tastes so bad. Look after yourself and have a lovely Christmas.
