Docetaxel and carboplatin

Hi,

I have just finished three rounds of EC and have three rounds of docetaxel and carboplatin to come, is anyone else having docetaxel and carboplatin?

I can find lots of threads about Docetaxel but no one seems to be having Carboplatin. It would be great to hear from anyone who has had this combination or anyone else who is about to start.

Take care everyone x

Hi  I’m on 3 weekly carboplatin at the moment, just started my 2nd cycle and having immunotherapy and paclitaxel too. This week I managed to get out for a couple of days and then had to spend the next 3 days in bed from tiredness (the weather hasn’t helped!) but almost back to normal now and feeling a lot better x

Hi Yasmine,
Thank you so much for your reply, your experience sounds similar to how I have been on EC, it all change for round 4 and I have been overthinking it all a bit. It really helps to hear how others are getting on. Best of luck with the rest of your treatment. Xx

Sounds like we’re doing the same plan just the other way around, I’m due to start EC after carbo  I think if you’ve been ok on EC you should hopefully be ok with carbo, from speaking to other people EC is a bit tougher than carbo so fingers crossed for you! X

EC hasn’t been too bad, sounds very similar to what you have found with Carboplatin, okay for the first few days, then very tired for a few days then slowly get back to normal. Fingers crossed EC goes well for you and wishing you a speedy recovery xx

Hi - diagnosed with ILC in January & started neo-adjuvant chemo (docetaxel & carboplatin) start of March. 6 cycles, completed mid June. As ER+ & HER2+ included Phesgo jab. So pleased to have completed that chemo regime.
It was successful allowing surgeon to proceed with simple left breast mastectomy; pathology results showed two level 1 nodes remained impacted so have had axillary clearance. So far surgery has been smooth & very successful.
In October I start on Kadcyla (Trastuzumab emtansine), plus I’m on daily Letrozole for 5 years. Oncology advised at possible menopause symptoms, but luckily nothing so far. As 15yrs post menopause (I’m 69), I have that T-shirt & not interested in collecting any further awards..
