Docetaxel Effects

Hiya. 12 days ago, I had my last docetaxel (had 3 EC, 3T, at three week intervals).
Previously, I’d be feeling so much better by now (well, apart from the dry mouth / vile taste!). However, I’m really struggling with fatigue. It’s not just that I’m so tired, but I’m struggling even to get up the stairs, my legs are so heavy and I’ve no strength.

I know being overweight is a big issue, but is this feeling normal at this stage? Any ideas, or experiences?

Thanks!

Hi @noots

I would suggest giving your treatment helpline a call, 12 days is not long after finishing chemotherapy and there may be symptoms they want to check out.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Let us know how you get on. I’m hoping it’s nothing to worry about but a quick call may set your mind at rest. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you, I’m seeing my BCN anyway on Thursday so I’ll see what she says. I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I had bad fatigue/pains after finishing Docetaxel, particularly in my legs when I did any walking. Uphill slopes and stairs were worst. It took some time, but with exercise it does get better. Youve been through alot and need to take things slowly until you build your strength back up. Keep going!

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it.

I’m trying to do a little walking every day. I find it difficult to be bothered, but I know I must.
Unfortunately, due to a huge bereavement just before I started chemo, I did nothing at all for quite some time, and that’s obviously made it even harder now.
