i had my first cycle of Docetaxel last Wednesday and I’m now in unbearable body pain - is this normal? It was at its worst last night and I’ve only slept every 20 mins or so as the pain keeps waking me up. Pain killers aren’t helping and I don’t know what to do as no one is answering the chemo helpline as it’s a bank holiday. Can anyone help / advise please?
Jussie, does it feel like your bones are being squeezed in a vice? Do phone your rapid response number and check with your team, that won’t be shut because it’s band holiday. A lot of us did use Epsom salt baths and that did ease the bone pains for a lot of us, didn’t take tge bone pain away completely but did ease it a bit. But please do check with your rapid response number, they are the experts and have seen every scenario during patients chemo everyone’s different and has different chemo se’s Shi xx
Is the pain all over and in your joints? From my experience, it was normal for me. It will get a bit better in the next few days. Can you speak to your GP and get some more pain meds? I remember taking paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine. A warm bath might help too and if you can bear it, maybe a little walk? I hope the pain subsides for you really soon x
