dodgy in-between hairstyle

Altough having hair that looks as it has been cut with a knife and fork looks better than being bald, I have to say that I am attracting more stares. My hair now growing fine does not scream out cancer which a headscarf or baldness does. Wigs weren.t for me. Most people know when they see headscarves/baldness that the person has an illness and don’t stare. Now people stare at me and I know they are thinking whats up with that womans hair. It is sticking out at all angles and looks like nothing on earth. It is going to look a lot worse before it gets better, I always did have untidy stuck up hait. It’s going to be about a year before it looks anything like… Friends jolly me along and told me to spike it but not a look I care for old ladies wi’ spiked hair… moan over lol love to all you out there especially anyone going through taxotere !!! finished 1st of May wi’ that poison love Eileen

Hi Eileen,

Have been pondering on the hair regrowth - why does it grow where we don’t want it but not where we do? I am now nearly 7 weeks on from last chemo, and have v short hair now on my head - maybe a millimetre in length. However, I have much longer hair on my legs & bikini line, and my eyebrows are still falling out.

WelL ROADRUNNER i THOUGHT EYELASHES ONLY TOOK THREE MONTHS TO GROW BUT ITS NOW oops sorry 6 months since last taxotere and they are still sparse and stubby. If try to put mascara on it gets all smudged as they are so short. Before I lost my eyelashes and brows I could put my false fringe and a scarf on and I’d look okay. Eyelashes and eyebrows are so important to how you face looks. Oh well only minor things I know love Eileen

Know how you feel - I was OK-ish about no hair for quite a while, but now really fed up with it. Just want it to grow back. Hubbie keeps telling me he can see it getting longer by the day, but that’s no good to me when I’m still along way off dispensing with the scarves.

Hi All

As you all know I had my last tax last Friday. I never lost my eyelashes and only a few brows… will they come out do you think?

I have been so proud of hanging on to them, if they came out now that I’m finished chemo I’ll be a bit cross! But as you say, only minor in the grand scheme of things
