Does anybody know the answer . . . . . . Hi All

There has been a lot written on here about recurrences after 5 years and I have been wondering if anybody has asked or knows the following.

If you get a local recurrence in the same breast or the other breast after 5 years how do we know that is just not v bad luck and it is a completely new cancer. Why does it have to be linked. ? Especially as often these tunours have different charcteristics?

Any thoughts?

I asked my surgeon what my chances were of getting this in my other breast and he told me negligible.
