Hoping you can shed some light on this subject for me?
Im half way through 6 sessions of EC and for the first two wore the coldcap but it didnt really work so had my 3rd ten days ago without it. My chemo nurse was sure it would work for me as I have/had should I say very short hair but hey ho - still got itty bitty clumps/whisps.
Anyhow, I wondered if/when i should expect to see my eyelashes/eyebrows disappear?

I have been on E-CMF chemo since may, due my final CMF next weds. Oddly enough my eyebrows and eyelashes remained intact whilst on the Epi (which is the one which causes the hair loss). However as soon as switched to CMF they fell out! I literally woke up one day and they were gone! However that had only vanished temporarily and before I new it they were back big time!! I know have the most awesome eyelashes that are far more lucious than before and my eyebrows are lovely too. Perhaps chemo does have a few up-sides??
Take heart though cause I know this doesn’t happen to everyone, and loads of peoples eyebrows and lashes have remained intact throughout all their treatment!

Hung on to mine during FEC but they have thinned to the point of vanishing on taxotere. Everyone says they come back so just another thing to look forward to. But my chemo is not the same as yours so may be you will be lucky!

Just to say my eylashes and eyebrows are still fully intact - despite 4 Taxotere. Two more to get so maybe they will still go. I didn’t touch them once - I would say they could do with a tidy but decided to leave them alone and so far they have survived. I only use mascara once in a blue moon scared this might be too much for them.
On the up side haven’t had to shave/wax my legs since July!

Well had 3 FEC and about to start on Taxotere, but still got all my eyebrows and eyelashes, although don’t have to pluck eyebrows much anymore. Hoping can hang on to them though, but got false eyelashes ready and waiting just in case.

I’m on Epi & 5FU, hair gone but hung on to eyebrows and most of eyelashes so far
I had e-cmf and lost more or less every hair on my body…except for my eyelashes and eyebrows…which was really weird at the time lol.
I have had my 3rd FEC of 6 and still got eyebrows & lashes - all though thined, plus bum fluff on head and arm hair but sad to say thats it!!

Just goes to show that everyone’s different! My eyebrows stayed fairly intact for the first 4 Epis… then one chose to thin out, leaving a gap… the other not so much… I just used an eyebrow pencil to fill in the gap and it looked OK. Only thing is I had to try a few different ones, as the harder pencils were pulling out the odd hair, and understandably I was keen to keep as many as possible! They’re now starting to grow back, now that I’m on Xeloda… Eyelashes have thinned a little… I think… hard to tell… but not significant enough to notice or do anything about.
You just take it as it comes… and it may never happen to you! (Fingers crossed)

I retained both eyelashes and eyebrows (a little patchy on the eyebrows) for 5 x FEC. Had 1 of 2 Taxotere on Friday so early days yet to see if they stay, hope so!
Lost all of head and “down below” hair.

Lost all my hair but still have some eyebrows and eyelashes -they have thinned out loads but still there!

Hope you are doin’ OK. I have now had 3xFEC and 1xTax, having 2nd Tax this Friday (woo-hoo can’t wait!). Anyway to answer your question…I still have some eyelashes and eyebrows although all of sudden this week they are looking a bit sad…rather ‘gappy’ but with a bit of eyebrow pencil and some mascara you wouldn’t really know.

Just to prove that we are all different I lost my eyebrows and lashes during my 6 FEC, although not until the 3rd lot I have just had third lot of Taxotere and still have both - although seriously bald everywhere else!!!

I still have all 6 of my eyebrows…hehe never had many to begin with… how are you doing? I had my 3rd chemo too…worst one so far with the jitters and nervousness. I have a friend that bought false eyelashes and said they worked gr8! I will probably use eyeliner smudged alittle if mine few that i have go. Don’t think I would want to use mascara tho.

I had my 1st Tax last week. Just completed 3 x FEC before that. I am sure my lashes are loosening because when I put mascara on the go in differant directions. Brows starting to thin too. I never pluck them and they appear a tad thinner.
I am worried they wont grow back!
Been using cold cap and have maintained 20% of my hair. Pointless really. Couldn’t go out without wig, but it’s nice to have a boundary as would be applying fake tan right to back of neck otherwise!!
Just remember it is all evidence that the chemo is doing it’s job. would be worried if I lost just a little bit!
I have had 3x FEC of six, and currently still have thin eyebrows that now do not need plucking, and eyelashes in tact. I think the eyelashes have started shedding, because I keep feeling like something is in my eye!

In terms of eye brows the best product I found which thickened the few I had left was something called Brow Zings and is brush on colour - sounds awful, but if you have any brows left at all it really thickens them.
I got it from a big Boots, but had to ask as it appears to be an “under the counter” product!
I had six Taxotere and my lashes and brows were fine, so I thought I’d got away with it! Then, a couple of months after treatment ended I started to lose my lashes. They didn’t fall out, they snapped off near the roots leaving little stumps. They have grown back since but they’re not as thick as I’d like, which might be a side effect of Herceptin or Tamoxifen which can both affect hair growth.
I can’t get on with fake eyelashes so I do my best with thickening mascara and lots of eyeliner!
