double negative will there be medication after treatment?

im double negative so dont think will get tamoxifen but reading this most women seem to b on something after treatment. onc said not sure about after will ask next time but wondered if any of u the same!!!rozita xxxx

Hey Rozita

When you say double negative do you mean you’re Er & Pr- but Her2+?

If this is the case you’ll get Herceptin for a year.

I’m triple negative, but giving Tamoxifen a go cause I scored 3/8 at core biopsy, but decreased to 2/8 after surgery. I figure there’s a little of my cancer responsive to hormones so it’s worth a shot!

not sure was told double negative in th begginning but didnt get it written down taking everythin in is hard. now just one more chemo t go then rads but wondering if thats it. why dont they give u this information what is core biopsy? rozita xxx

The core biopsy is what you usually have before diagnosis. They use a big clicky thing to take wee chunks of the lump for biopsy…I have no idea what it looks like cause I made sure I was looking the other way!

I would give your BCN a call & check what your pathology report says. I would assume that had you been Her2+ you would be aware & Herceptin would have been discussed.

You might find that they told you that you were double negative for hormones before your Her2 status was known & might now be Triple Negative. Definately worth checking out…and asking what you scored for ER receptors.
