I know I won’t get the results today, but I suspect I will learn enough to stop me hoping that somehow it’s something else.
You’ve got this @al1kat We are right here with you whatever the results ![]()
Whatever happens everyone is here for you. Best of luck. x
Results day is a really hard day but you got this and whatever it is you will get through it and come out the other side changed but stronger than you ever thought possible!! Sending hugs to you xx
It’s not sounding good so far. Registrar found a clear outer border on one side, but said on the other that it’s all merging into firm breast tissue. Having scans now, and then biopsy and then they’ll call us back in to tell us what they’re seeing.
The good thing is they are on it now and the more they can find and figure out the easier your treatment will be.
Deep breaths ![]()
As bad news goes, it’s about as good as it gets. It’s only 15mm instead of the 50 mm plus they thought from the outside. I’m really happy! Still got to get the biopsies done and then they’ll decide on the best treatment.
You’ve got this. They know what they are dealing with and can get a treatment plan in place for you ![]()
Can I ask if you’re in Scotland or England. My appointment is same as your original on the 17th and I’m wondering if I should phone for cancellation too. The waiting is the worst.
Isn’t it? I’m so much calmer now I know. I’m in Edinburgh, but I absolutely would phone, wherever you are. The worst that can happen is they tell you they don’t do it like that.
Glad you’re feeling much calmer, you’ve got this and this forum seems amazing for support and advice.
I’m Edinburgh too so will give them a call tomorrow see what they say, thank you x
Definitely phone. I was told that I could phone as often as I wanted and that they always have cancellations, particularly on a Friday pm for a Monday morning. I had been planning to phone first thing each morning (the clinic opens at 0820,) so I would probably phone before 9am and around 4pm every day. Apparently they keep one slot free for emergencies, but if it’s not been booked by late afternoon they’re generally happy to release it. Keeping everything crossed that you get seen more quickly toi.
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it Especially when you’ve had a difficult day. I’ll give them a call this afternoon.
Hope your doing ok today xx
Good luck with getting a cancellation. I’ll keep everything crossed.
It’s brilliant news that it’s a lot smaller than they thought. Fantastic!
Well, I’m hoping that that is good news! They did find a couple of areas that they wanted to biopsy, so I’m just going to have to wait patiently for the results, and keep everything crossed.
Back in May I had a CT Guided Bone Biopsy on my Pelvis. I ended up waiting 5 excruciating weeks for the results. Apparently it was such a poor biopsy that they were working with, it had been crushed on extraction. It took several Drs to decipher whether it was cancer or not. Eventually after 5 weeks of examining the bone sample, it was sadly decided it was indeed metastatic breast cancer.
Waiting is really difficult & not helpful to our mental health XX
Hopefully one day in the not too distant future there’ll be a cure for bone cancer rather than life long medication with many unpleasant side effects.
So grateful that there are tablets to manage it but a cure would just be amazing ![]()
hi I am new to the Forum and cannot work out how to start a fresh conversation so apologies al1kat for including myself in your conversation. I have a breast clinic appointment on the 23rd of December, the waiting and stress is torture. I have convinced myself I have breast cancer as I think I have so many symptoms that it cant be anything else. Right now I am trying to work out if I can actually make my nighshift tonight as my anxiety is off the radar.
Waiting is the worst part. Keeping busy really helps. Work could be a great distraction. Best wishes
thanks edp
