Just thought I’d start this one off. As in our real occupation thread some ladies have already said what they would like to be.
I would love to be an outdoor activity officer, you know doing things like rock climbing and water skiing for a living. I love the outdoors and I am a bit of an adrenalin junkie so think that might cut it.
I did do a course on starting my own business after having my 2 yr old, as there is a huge gap in the market where I live for nice maternity clothes, then we got an H & M and that stopped me LOL.
If I could choose any job in the world that I could do it would be walking dogs anywhere peaceful. i wouldn’t even want paying for it.
I think being a buyer would be incredibly interesting. Just think about going round the world picking out wonderful things on someone else’s budget! Anyway, its a thought…
My dream occupation or ambition is to run my own small holding. Somewhere for people to visit and stay with the countryside around them. Have been looking into this kind of business and will take alot of hard work. Will be a few years or more in the future.
I have just been on a visit for the Dogs for the Disabled charity which is really close to me. I pass it virtually everyday and wondered what went on. As a real dog lover, I am now determined to get a job there. Pay is rubbish but job satisfaction a million dollars. Watch this space!!
As I previously said I would love to work answering the phones or on the desk at a police station … or… if I was in a position to not need to work for money I would love to foster new born babies who are being put up for adoption.

this might seem harsh, but you can get paid quite a considerable amount of money for fostering, might be worth looking into, thats if its just finances stopping you doing that, i couldnt do it, couldnt give up the babies when adoptive parents are found!!!
My dream occupation? God. But I pretty much have what I want to do now, rare breed sheep farmer, living in the middle of nowhere (rather like Kirsty’s dream) and using my legal experience in an ejnoyable voluntary capacity.
My dream occupation would be to test out all the 5 star hotels in the world…
I wish…
Hmmm… dream occupation… pretty much the dame as Anita. Some sort of mystery shopper for airlines (first class of course) and top hotels around the world!!! Actually I would like to be a top end window dresser too!

AJ - How about being a volunteer for Guide Dogs for the Blind or something, ever thought about it?
social worker for elderly

I know that fostering can pay well but it can be sporadic - especially if you stick to newborns. I’m single so need to know that I am getting a paid every month … one day when I find a rich man to pay my bills I might be able to give up work and look after babies.
I’d like to live somewhere warm, france or spain. Own a large villa and have guests stay. I’d teach them how to make stained glass or other arty stuff, feed them glorious meals with food grown in our own organic veg plot. We’d keep hens too. I’d have a pool, swim every day, loose 3 stone in weight and feel fit again. All of my children and grandchildren would also live nearby. Now where is that old lottery ticket!
Irene, is that dream so far away? I think one of the biggest hurdles in knowing what you want to do. Yes, you need money, but if the inspiration is there, surely that is the ignition spark? I don’t think your dream sounds too idealistic and unobtainable at all. Go for it.
To own a small hotel by the sea
Ooooh - mary - that hotel lark is a lot of work!
Irene - with Cathy there - go for it girl!!!
hmmmm, Irene…I’m coming to the villa…esp like the crafty part
maybe you can be a partner with Mary and they can go from one to the next???
would like to open a B&B too…I can be the US starting point or coutnerpoint?
