Has anyone had very dry hands following chemo and radiotherapy? I’m also on zoladex. If anyone has had this do you recommend any hand creams. My skin is very flaky and the tips of my fingers are cracked. Also have a cut which is sore when I bend my fingers. I have been using aveeno hand cream but not really making a difference.
Hello Rosa,
So sorry to read how uncomfortable you are with sore hands,
Maybe call your GP or cancer team a call you may need a stronger cream to clear this up.
Wishing well going forward with love Tili ![]()

Hi
It’s the worst thing dry, cracked skin!
Dry skin is a well recognised side effect from these treatments. Before I started chemo, I changed to MooGoo shower cream. you could switch to something similar -Aveeno/Cocoa butter didn’t work for me.
I already had issues with dry scalp and skin. It’s working for me and I use an argan oil based shampoo bar too.
And I’ve been using gloves when washing up at the skin(when I remember!) which helps.
Before you do that, definitely speak to your team as they can advise and prescribe something for you.
Hope you get this sorted x
udderly smooth with extra urea from Amazon worked for a lot of us back on 2017 threads when skin on hands and feet was parched from treatments, might be worth a try befit really was a wonder cream when nothing else worked for a lot of us
hope this helps ![]()

Hi @rosa1 , my hands cracked terribly during chemo. I had tried E45 and Cetraben but they weren’t helping. One of the chemo nurses suggested the handcream ‘O’Keefe’s working hands’ and that worked for me.

Hey, I have been using Pure shea butter that is 100% natural from Aviela skincare, it has helped my dry skin tremendously. I apply it after my shower, since the shea butter then gets absorbs into my skin instantaneously. I also apply it before going to bed on the dry patches of skin, to keep it moist during the night.
