Duct ecstasia and cyst

Went to clinic as nipple had started to flatten and crease. Had mammogram and us and was told it was duct ectasia. Was offered yet another needle aspiration of a largish cyst (now drained 4 times in last four years) this time the fluid had a red tinge to it but radiologist was concerned and said she didn’t want to test it. I did bruise quite a lot after procedure and three weeks later this has almost gone. However I have been left with a large tender lump about the size of a Brazil nut in this area. Should I be concerned about this or wait a few weeks longer to see if this settles? The lump is opposite side of areola from the ectasia. Thank you for bothering to read such a long post!!

Hi Sam. Thank you for your reply. I suppose my question was should the drained cyst have caused the lump that I now have. Or was the lump part of the ectasia and was always there hidden under the cyst?
I had a mastectomy of my other breast last year and I’m coming up to my 12 month review in just over a months time. Perhaps I should wait until then as all the bruising should have disappeared. I had all the screening so I’m sure something sinister would have been detected by then.
Thanks once again. Perhaps I should re question my post and try again. X
