Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected under these circumstances. I was recently dx with early stage IDC and I’m due to undergo a lumpectomy next week at the Royal Marsden, London. I’m 36 years old and would love to meet others in a similar situation. I’ve been feeling increasingly isolated, as the only person I have been able to confide in so far, is my mother. Had put off having kids as I had been busily pursuing my career and now I fear that this may not be an option for me. Anyway, it would be nice to meet others as I embark on this life changing journey, not only to receive support but also to give support and friendship.

I too am being treated at Marsden. I hope your treatment has been going as well as can be hoped for. It’s a tough, lonely journey. I’m here if you want to have a chat. Personally I’ve found it easier chatting online than on the phone or face to face… no one to see/hear me blubber!
I’m 10 years older than you, though at the moment I look a whole lot older. Bit like Golem… or perhaps Uncle Fester…

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Things do begin to feel better once treatment is underway. The Marsden is a really wonderful hospital compared to many, so I’m sure you’re in very good hands.
I’m receiving rather spread out treatment, with mx under Brighton, chemotherapy in Eastbourne and 3 days into radiation at the Marsden. I’ll be there every week day until 1st March. Take a look at my profile if you want more info.
Sadly, you’re not alone. There’s a couple of younger women’s threads on the go that are pretty active and you can spread out and share on there if you like, though there are lots of threads that might take your fancy, from very serious to very silly.
You might also find the helplines a real benefit, number’s at the top of every page.
