Eczema returns after all treatments finished

Has anyone else found that their eczema (and psoriasis) has returned in force once all the treatments have finished?? Was diagnosed May 2010 and have had 6 x FEC, lumpectomy and all lymph nodes removed, 3 x Taxotere and 15 rads by mid-Feb 2011. Since then my chest area has had a slight reaction to the rads (treated with Hydrocortisone) but what’s really flared up is my eczema on the base of my spine which I used to suffer from slightly before diagnosis. GP has prescribed betnovate and I know in the grand scheme of things this is a minor worry but just wondered if others had experienced this.

Yes, I did. Think it’s all to do with the ‘poison’ that is chemo and the way it works with the immune system and hormones. I have it on my hands and it came back after about 3 months although possibly not as badly as before. I’m on arimidex, zoladex and zometa and think they may be contributing in some way to it not coming back as badly. I found betnovate made my eczema worse - it was too sticky. The onc dept gave me some Eucerin (sp?)cream a while ago for dry skin and that helped quite a lot.

Hope things improve for you - I know how bad it can be with all that itching.

Thanks for this advice. Am seeing my oncologist on Monday so will mention this to him then!

My beautiful baby boy was born a perfectly healthy baby. As a working mother, I had a perfect plan for him: breastfeeding/formula supplementation for 6 months, food introduction at 4-6 months, and then traditional milk and so on, and I stuck to that plan.

Mom quits job and flourishing career to manage son’s severely worsening eczema, keeping him at home full time, attending multiple doctor appointments, getting blood work done on various diseases, cooking allergy friendly foods and changing our lifestyle to a hypoallergenic one — read, read, read, track, track, track, stress, stress, and more stress.

my experience in managing my son’s severe eczema, food allergies, asthma, along awesome allergy free-recipes, latest research and treatment plans that worked for us. my son has all the symptoms especially around nose, cheeks and forehead that flared up after he had dengue fever. I did not want to use any over the counter medicine so I researched. Now he washes his face with a diluted baking soda water daily followed with application of virgin coconut oil on the face after the wash.

Thanks,
