I had BC in 2007. I had a right MX and lymph node clearance with 2 nodes positive. Just thought I would let you all know my dear daughter did the Edinburgh half marathon on Sunday in really hot conditions in under 2 hours. It was her first attempt at running a marathon and she raised almost 700 pounds for Breast Cancer Care.
I am very proud of her.
Lots of congratulations being sent your way to your lovely daughter, for all her hard work, on what sounds like a hot day! What a lovely thing to have done for her Mum! Hope you are keeping well and will continue to do so
Hugs to you and your daughter

Thank you all for your good wishes. My daughter is a very thoughtful girl and I am very lucky to have her. I am very well and awaiting a reconstruction op. This site has been a godsend for me in the early days when everything is very confusing and even now 3 years down the line when things get a bit worrying, its great to have your support.
Carolyn well done to your lovely daughter on her achievement and please thank her from me for raising money for Breast Cancer - thats brilliant. You must be incredibly proud of her for being so supportive and caring - they say what you give is what you get so you must deserve her!!!
Glad to hear you are progressing well three years down the line and good luck with the reconstruction. My husband’s cousin has recently had it done, having deliberated for two years and her prompt was a new surgeon being appointed who said to her “you are a beautiful woman and should think about having the surgery for your own benefit” Well that did it, she is now done and delighted and happy to have discarded the prosthesis. Whilst this is not the route for everybody it certainly benefitted Jan.
She is now considering the option of having “old boob” lifted to matchbut its purely an option and if she decides against will carry on with a good sports bra.
We are all different in how we deal with our breast cancer but we all have similar ups and downs in common I feel.
