I,m typing/asking on behalf of my Wife
Sorry Start again . I purchased for my wife at the weekend "Chelated Calcium Magnesium Zinc . Would this be appropriate considering she had estrogen positive breast cancer , is currently on Tamoxifin and Zoledex and is age 33.
I was hoping this would be suitable for maintaining heathly bone.
Hi Lorri
Sorry I can’t comment on this but would be interested also to know.
I am on zoladex injections, and I was oestrogen positive too.
My family has a history of osteoporosis, so anything to help maintain my bones would be a bonus.
Take care

Hi Lorri,
I am also oestrogen positive and taking tamoxifen, had surgery and radiotherapy. My GP started me on Adcal-D3 Chewable tablets, I understand they also have vit B which helps the calcium to do the job. I really need this as I have many joint problems from before the breast cancer. If you are unsure I would speak to the Breast Care Nurse or your GP.
Good luck to you and your wife.

Hi Lorri
I was given Adcal tablets from my hospital as part of the Azure Trial. The tablets were only for one year. Thereafter, I felt I wanted to keep up my calcium levels so I did some research. For the last two years I have been taking Solgar Calcium Magnesium Citrate (two tablets per day). However, I also don’t take dairy so it is important that I do not lose out in getting enough calcium. I had my calcium levels checked recently and they were fine - so I feel I am doing something right. My understanding of it is that it is more important to take calcium if you are on arimidex as tamoxifen has a small amount of “bone cover” within the tablet.
I hope that is helpful to you.
Regards.
Jeannie
