Today is eight years since I was diagnosed aged 44. Her2 positive, ER+, PR+, grade three, in three lymph nodes. My children were all at secondary school at the time, now the youngest will turn 20 this month, is currently studing medicine, and has been learning about cancer and herceptin this term!
When you are first daignosed it is such a scary time, you plan your funeral, think you won’t see your kids grow up. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, take heart from those of us who have been there, got through it, and are now getting on with our lives.
