Hello I am Poppy2
On Saturday 30th Jan 23, I was putting on my nightdress and suddenly felt this lump, it’s to the side of my right breast, I can move it, and my breast just feels warm, no pain, the lump is about the size of a walnut, I am 81 and have no history of breast cancer in my Family, tomorrow I will book and see my GP.
Any advise and anyone my age experienced this.
Hello Poppy21, I have a dear friend, now 82, who had breast cancer during Covid. I also met a dear lady in her nineties at the breast clinic. You are doing the right thing going to see your GP. Just take things one step at a time. I wish you well. Love from Tulip xxx
Thank you so much, that has helped me, I am trying to think positive.
Happy New Year x
Dear Poppy,

Please come back and let us know how you are getting on when you feel ready.
Health and happiness going forward, lots of luck for 2024.

Hello tulip
Hello Tulip 29
Just an update on my latest information.
I went to my GP, he was excellent, examined me, told me not to worry, he said it could be a calcium build up, but not sure.
I also had several blood tests, including one for clotting they all looked pretty much ok.
My appointment is on the 18th January 1.15 for three hours.
Our Daughter came to visit as she does once a week, and she explained that she had been to the breast clinic several times, and each time she was diagnosed as having cyst, so she had them drained, it’s five years now since the last, she has never told me, she didn’t want me to worry, her Daughter my Granddaughter has also had cyst drained.
So it has helped me hearing it, otherwise my mind was in overdrive, just want it sorted now, please keep in touch, love Ann
Dear @poppy21 or Ann , what a lovely daughter you have raised, who has been through a stress time in the past but dealt with it herself as she didn’t want to worry you. She is indicative of the truth that so many lumps and anomalies in the breasts are benign. Of course it will be a worry until a full examination has been done by specialists but try to be positive and assume that your daughter and granddaughter are chips off the old block and you’re dealing with a cyst. Do let us know what the outcome is.
I would hope for the best and prepare for the worst. My understanding is that breast cancer rates increase with age, starting from 40, when it’s one in fifty women who are diagnosed, then the rate doubles every ten years. Treatment is better these days so I wish you all the best whatever the outcome.
I was 48 when first diagnosed, I am now 68 at my second diagnosis, so I reckon you will be fine. Many women live with breast cancer and die of something else…

Hello again, I am so pleased to hear that you have seen your GP. Just sharing your concerns will have helped a little I am sure. Likewise talking with your daughter. They do say that a problem shared is a problem halved and I really do believe that. Now you have your GP, your daughter, and all of us supporting you! I’m sure that 18th January feels a long time to wait even though it isn’t. When you arrive for your appt you will be treated like a VIP but take a book or magazine as there may be a lot of waiting. Just take one step at a time as before and be sure to let us know how you get on whatever the outcome. With love from Tulip xxx
Thank you for the information, it’s all very new to me, tomorrow I am off to the breast clinic, three hour appointment, I have no one in my Family that have had breast cancer, my Daughter and Granddaughter have had cysts drained.
The lump I have is pretty big, almost the size of a walnut, in October I was in hospital for a week, I had lots of tests also a heart scan, I cannot remember feeling any sort of lump.
So I would imagine it’s appeared in the last few months, I walk past a mirror every morning but didn’t notice it.
I wish you well, how very sad for you, keep in touch.
Annxx
How are you doing poppy21? Any news good or bad?
