Electron therapy

Hi
My wife had a lumpectomy, a roller coaster of chemo (Epi + CMF) and has just started her 3 weeks of rads. Yesterday they said she will need an extra two days of ‘Electron therapy’.
I’ve searched the site and found nothing. My Google searches don’t inform me of very much either.
Does anyone know:

  • why she needs it
  • what it is
  • what it does?

Hi Freddie,

If you give the helpline a ring between 9am and 5pm on 0808 800 6000 (the calls are free) the staff there will be able to explain to you about electron therapy.

Having to be at hospital every day (30 miles away) for rads we are never in when your helpline is open

Can anyone advise - this starts next Monday

You could try the ‘Ask the Nurse’ email service which is on the homepage under ‘Support for you’, also the helpline is open on Saturdays 9am-2pm.
