Sorry for rubbish spelling! Am lay in bed typing on iPhone with left hand! To help decipher my post, it was school shoes. And the play was The Bacchae . Bet you’ve seen it sandra…
Hi, Ladies, first Herceptin out of the way, no nasty reaction, six hours went fairly fast. was in the brand new building at The Christie, only opened last week, all state of the art but a bit drafty! the nurse who looked after me used to live opposite me, didn’t realise she worked there, so that was nice.
Maria, thats fantastic news, don’t go breaking anything on the slopes, you’ll be back at hospital before you want to!
Vickie, are you sure you’ve not been on the Baileys? that play sounds a bit heavy
Kanga, I don’t have that problem, anything goes wrong with my PC is my fault or the PC’s. OH won’t touch my PC, he only understands Apple Mac.
so you have something to cook your christmas dinner, or have they eaten everything?
Gill, well done -RADS out of the way. I have my last one on 20th, going OK at the moment apart from the vertigo when I get up off the bed. I’m going to take a pill before I go on Monday.
Little Nell, hope you’re feeling better. are you knitting a beanie hat or something more glamourous? I need a new knitting project now I have finished the baby jacket.
Sandra, we have rain here so no snowmen for us. no Skye yet, we’re booked in for the 26th now.
hope eveyone is not too cold. temp has gone up here a bit.
Love to everyone
Carolxx
Hi Ladies,
Vickie, Glad you pointed out it was school shoes, Was a little confused! Thought you had found a new type of shoe! I have been waiting for eldest’s gs’s feet to grow to size 11 or 12 so l can buy him some heelys! They look such fun!
Can just imagine Kanga or Heather with a pair! Oh yes and seen some lovely dinosaur trainers, that light up and on the sole you have a dinosaur footprint! How cool is that, just need to get some with a princess on now! No not for me!
That is brilliant that you don’t go back to work until 2012, gives you plenty of time to enjoy those little boys!
No l haven’t seen The Bacchae, not a lover of Greek tragedy! My theatre days are watching more fun things, the last one was Aladdin, and before that was Postman Pat. The next one booked is in January, and that is Scooby Doo! Mind you l do love musicals, something l can have a good sing to!
Maria, Hope you have had a good day on the slopes with son and pfdil, l will be glad when she becomes a dil, so much easier to remember!! Is there a date?
Gill Hope you and your internet are re connected! Hate being without connection!
Getting a bit worried, no Christmas cards written, but already receiving some!
You will all be saddened to hear my little snowman has turned into a little puddle! All l have left is a bow, carrot and two little pebbles!
Kanga, Appointment on the 23rd! l was having a grumble about the 14th, only because l want to forget about it over Christmas, and appointments close to Christmas brings it all back! My only other appointment is on the 25th with santa!!
Well obviously you and your sister are not alike? If she taught at a private school!!! Now what could you teach at a private school? Nothing the parents would want to pay for!
Any joy with selling your house! Hopefully you will have central heating in your next home!!
Don’t know about your little friends eating their way through your door, sounds like they have eaten enough to break the door down!
Saffronseed, are you having any side effects with your Femara, l haven’t had any yet!
Hope you are well and busy Christmas shopping!
Suze, you can’t still be on holiday! Or can you? Hope you had a lovely time.
Isabelle, you snowed in, with those lovely gc?
Heather, hope things are ok with you and your family?
Carol, hope your first Herceptin went well today! You must be exhausted being at the hospital for so long!
Jackie, caught up with your sleep and your ironing? Oh and have you got your car back yet?
K, You ok? Good luck with your scan on Thursday, bet Mary is getting excited about Christmas!
Nell, you still under the duvet! Come one Christmas shopping to get!
Lesley, Hope you are getting through all your chemo dates! Does your IBS cause any problems with peachy?
Tracey, hope you are ok, not seen you for a while? Think you start your hiyateardrop a week on Monday!
Kenzil, hope your lumpectomy went ok?
Anne, Hope all is well with you, and no more muscle spasms
Jill, did you go to your party? My new lightweight prosthesis weighs 152g and is a D so lighter than yours! It is 25% lighter than my other one! Backache has cleared up completely so pleased with that!
Tina, Pam, Kirsty, Wendy and Sue, hope you are all in good ‘spirit’
Did lots of online Christmas shopping and lots of Christmas shopping today, the earlier l start the more l seem to get, can’t stop buying!!
Think it is time for a cup of coffee, a mince pie and off to bed!
Sleep tight one and all
Hugs

Sandra xxx
sorry, that should have read 16th. not too bad today, two other ladies to chat to and the lovely nurses. but the building was a bit like the Marie Celeste, there were only two of us, other lady was her first one too, two nurses and the cleaners!
Hi carol, glad herceptin went well for you. X
Been to
local lights switch on tonight with my boys and sisters. I must have filled up with tears about twenty times and cried a good few too. All the usual
thoughts, will I be here next year with my boys to fo
this, or will my sisters be bringing them and saying remember when mummy used to bring you? Don’t know what kind of wreck I’m going to be on Wednesday as is both boys seperate nativities and Christmas concerts. Plus I have my post rads onc check up Thursday morning when my eldest boy is doing another nativity performance. Seems horrid, setting mycancer appointmet against his nativity . Two such different things.
Anyway, am sounding down but I am not. I have had a lovely day, doing the tree tmrw and will try to just enjoy the moment rather than dwell
on what ifs. Who was it who said don’t borrow tomorrows sorrow? I’m sure it was one of us on here and their neighbour had told them it. AnywAy I found it a great phrase and repeat it yo myself a lot. Also I like “see the donut, not the hole”! And my mums favourite , it’s what YOU do that counts ,…"
Right off to bed as match of the day has creeped onto my telly! All hail stacey, the queen of the jungle!
Vickie

ps sandra, where do u get the dino trainers? Sound fab!
Morning Ladies,
Vickie the dino trainers are from ‘Flywalk’ my gs loves dinosaurs and collecting fossils!
They had their christmas bazaar on Friday, they always have a fossils stall, we must have visited the stall a dozen times, he wasn’t interested in the chrismas stalls, just wanted fossils!
They had the choir singing chrismas songs in the playground before it started, there was gs swinging on my arm dancing, while my hood was up, head was down, tears were streaming! wondering what will be…But l still enjoyed it, just the emotional rollercoaster we have to go through at every ‘event’ never seems to end!
You have a busy emotional week, will be thinking of you.
Your two appointments might be ‘two such different things’ but they boil down to ‘one thing’ your life and family! Nothing in the world is more important than that!
Snow was a distant memory! All gone!
Have a lovely day everyone
Sandra xxx
orning, ladies. I feel quite left out with you all going to nativities etc, think I’ll join rent a granny!!!
we are off to support our lovely daughter at her craft fair this morning. she has worked soooo hard making christmas decs and cards and embelished candles. hope she sells everything.
horrid day here foggy & miserable, some snow hanging on.
OH cooking my breakfast incl. POACHED EGG! must go and get dressed-if I am not sitting at the table when it’s ready, I’m in deep c**k
Love Carolxx
Hi everyone.
Love the animated Santa Sandra!
Had a super day yesterday going down to the BBC studios in Wood Green to see Strictly. Had a long wait in the queue outside. We had been warned to get there early as they give out more tickets than seats as they assume some people won’t turn up. Talking to a lady in the queue who had got tickets for the show a few weeks ago and hadn’t got in so they had given her these tickets to try again. Must be so disappointing after travelling down, queuing and then being turned away. But we did queue for about three hours (number 130 in the queue) and once inside had a brilliant time. Loved seeing the professional dancers and it is such a slick performance. Very little had to be done twice. We were sitting a few rows behind Billy Connolly and as it was Pamela Stevenson’s birthday they brought on a cake for her in the interval between the Saturday night show and the recording of the results show. Have seen the results but not telling, you will have to wait until tonight!
Hope everyone is keeping warm.
Pam x
Hi Ladies,
Now where did that come from! (as my 6 year old gs keeps telling me, a Rhetorical question grandma, l am sure l never knew that word at his age)
Anyway, just had the family round and everyone laughing and joking, l felt the odd one out! not felt like that for ages! As they went eldest son said “l keep wanting to tell you how much l love you” open the flood gates!!
It must be christmas, keep feeling emotional! or is it the end of treatment? l don’t know, but l don’t like it!
Hope everyone is a bit more cheerful than l am at the moment!
Other than that, had a lovely day, and wrapped some christmas presents up!
Hugs

Sandra, It realy doesn’t surprise me you are feeling as you are. It’s time to think about you for a change. little bit of pampering is what is needed, even if it is only a long soak in a lovely smelling bath.
Take care, hugs for now and later if you need them, we are all here for you
Love Maria
Hello Ladies,
Sandra, I love your little Santa. My boys went home last night, their Mummy was missing them, but had to go to work so they stayed another day. We have still got loads of snow here. I hope you are ok, hugs xxx
Maria, glad to hear you don’t need to go back for any check ups until next year, take it easy, and dont try to do too much to quickly when you return to work. I feel like I’ve never been away now.xxx
Gill, I’m pleased to see that you’ve finished your rads now, take it easy, and rest as much as you need to. xxx
I hope everyone has had a good weekend.
Hugs and best Wishes to you all,
Isabelle xxx
Hi ladies,
been missing this week as been a difficult one. 1 year last Tuesday since partner walked out, 1 year Friday since being told it had spread and the new worry has made me a bit down all week but I have been reading your posts.
My scan is on Thursday, as long as the weather improves.
Sandra - sending snowy hugs and understand totally how you feel. I think it is a very emotional time for many of us at the moment.
Pam - well now we know it was Anne Widdecombe at last, about time really. Bet it was fantastic seeing it live.
Vickie - hope the tree went up well with no disasters. Mine won’t go up till nearly Xmas as not really into decorations (bah humbug !!)
Jackie - glad you had a lovely holiday and that you now have your car back.
Carol - hope you are not having too many se’s and that the poached egg was just right.
Isabelle - fed up with snow yet ?? I know I am though finally dug the car out today but still off work tomorrow as Mary’s school is still closed so will be looking after a couple of her friends as well tomorrow.

Me again,
my quote of the day, which I thought summed me up so well right now.
" I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then" ( Alice in Wonderland)
K x
Hi K, Sorry it has been a rubbish week for you, As for your Ex walking! perhaps the best thing was him going, you need a man with ‘balls’ sorry if him leaving is hard for you, but better on your own, than with someone that will walk when life gets tough
When you say a year since being told it had spread, l take it you mean the nodes?
Your week must have left you wondering what the hell is happening!
Well Alice in Wonderland, you may have changed several times, but you have changed into a real beauty, not that you wasn’t one before! Lol.
Think my quote for today comes from Winston Churchill…If you’re going through hell, keep going!
Time for Bed
Sleep tight
Sandra xxx
Karen, big hugs darling. Are you able to get to mcr on Friday at all? Trying to organise an Oldham
meet up and you might enjoy it. I can drive to get you from the train station if that helps?
Sandra., am loving dancing father Christmas! Am off to symths toy shop this morning with my mum for lots of spending!!!
V
Afternoon Ladies,
Karen Hugs to you and thinking of you this week; not an easy time for you and just wish we could do more to support you x x
Sandra, Love the animated pic!
I think Christmas is a time of mixed emotions. There’s always a bit of sorrow inside me at Chritsmas time and I always think of those who are sad and alone at this time too; I’ve been there and it isn’t a nice place to be. Tears come too easy at this time of year for too many people and although it’s “tis the season to be jolly” it can be difficult time and then there’s all those bc emotions for us all to deal with too!! Gosh I sound a right Bahh Humbugg !!!
I agree with Maria, you need a little pampering!!!
Vickie, Haven’t done a nativity play yet without tears, let alone do one with bc! and to do Onc as well…, will be thinking of you this Thursday, but am sure you’ll stay positive for your little fellas.
And I will take on board that saying about tomorrows sorrows too…
Maria, Hope you, your son and pfdil enjoyed the snow and skiing this weekend! Sounded like you were going to have some fun and I hope you did and that everyone is intact and you managed to get some good quality time in and even ‘forget’ the bc for a while. Pleased your appontment went well too.
Carol, One Hercerptin less to do, but six hours - drove me crazy last week and I was only there 2! Anyway, well done!
I made a beanie hat, nothing fancy, just 72 stitches k2 p2 for 6 inches then shape, really quick to do as it was chunky wool so made it in no time at all, trouble is think my son has claimed it so I’m back to scarves and my fur (faux) hat as my fingers are too sore to make another one!
Jackie, Nice to see you had a lovely holiday. OH wants to whisk me away in Jan after chemo but feel really scared about it and don’t know why!
Kanga, Hope it goes well with the cardiologist, your post are always uplifting; keep thinking you have a yeti out there, but yes maybe Santa’s little “Elfers” …
Pam Glad you liked the show - and got in, especially after a 3hr wait!
Isabelle, “Nice” (if that’s the right word) to see you feel like you haven’t been away from work; it sounds like you’re making real postive steps towards life after bc, if that makes sense x
Still having a rough time with TAX and not getting any easier after third one. Temp is up again and monitoring here as really, really don’t want to go back in hospital, so just taking paracetamol every four hours, but if it goes over 38 I guess I’ll have to contact them (it’s between 37 - 38 for last 24hrs). Don’t feel ill as such, just tired and achy and it hurts when I breathe in deep; so not breathing in deep… Anyway keeping an eye on it.
Really can’t wait until last one is over but the SE’s are gonna hit on the 25th as my last one is the 21st. Not gonna pospone it though unless I’m ill etc. Mam & Dad are doing dinner for us but think will have to miss mil’s on 26th as two hour drive each way and long day once there but just see how it goes; can’t really plan much with BC or PM can you!
See my Onc on the 22nd, due to have liver scan but no date fixed yet as need to get PM finished first and see my bc consultant next week to discuss MX at end of Jan…
And on a positive note: Shopping nearly done - Thanks to Amazon!!
Only good thing about the bc is that it’s MADE me get organised - whether it’s the ironing or cooking/freezing between PM or for Christmas! Started buying cards and presents in October which is good for me as I’m normally a last minute Lucy and grabbing what I can Christmas week; and as for cards I used to send them same week so god knows if and when they ever got there - especially to the states!!! My family will be truly amazed at how I’ve done PM and manged to get the cards there on time when I couldn’t do it before bc LOL
Thanks for the photo comments, think I was about 11 or 12 at the time, anyway many, many years ago!!!
Ooh and guess what? I have stubble on my eyebrows as well as my head!! Ohh and Yeah… my legs too, not mentioned anywhere else as me thinks that’s enough information for now…
As usual, Hi to everybody whether you’re reading, posting, not posting, popping in, or whatever,
We’re here to support you and to make you smile,
Love hugs and wishes
Little Nell xx
Hi there everyone bet you all thought that I’d hibernated. Truth is this CMF wipes me out for a few days and so I have two bad weeks when my head can’t cope with the computer and then on my two good weeks I try to do all the things I can’t do on treatment weeks if that makes sense. Last week and this trying to get as much Christmas stuff done as poss because next two weeks are treaments. Have one on the on 21st so hopefully will feel ok by Christmas eve/day. Then just two in Jan and finished peachy. Had a date for marking up for radio,Jan 5th, and aso guess once pm finished will be straight into that 15 sessions in all.Nearly there now girls.
I’ve changed my pic to one of Dave and I in Egypt a couple of years ago,it was such a fabtastic holiday and I really like the pic except Dave has his eyes closed.
Lve some of the pics that have changed,Mari,Karen,Sandra to name three but noticed lots of changes . Must be honest only read back about three pages and so not up to date with what’s going on but I think about you and often wonder how everyone is.
Sandra to answer your question, cmf gives you the runs and makes you feel very bloated, apart from other things, and so I don’t really know sometimes if it’s pm or ibf! Doesn’t matter really I keep taking all the tabs for everything.
Been quite busy what with Christmas anad all. Also bit of a trying time as my uncle, who has always been like a dad to me, (my mum and dad divorced when I was 15 and didn’t really have a proper relationship with dad after that he died a couple of years ago, very comlpicated ands sad) anyway, me uncle has lung canser diagnosed a couple of weeks ago and has to have an operation supposed to be this week but waiting to hear what day, sorry to add bad news on here I knmow that you all have enough. I think that the fact they are operating is a good sign as it couldn’t ahve gone to far or they wouldn’t do that would they?
Anyway been to Trentham Gardens this morning with mum and with temps around -6 eveywhere looks like Narnia very beautiful. Looking forward to seeing my son amd his girlfriend he’s coming on the 22nd(Dave fetching him) and then she’s coming with her mum on Christmas eve. All cards written, pressies wrapped and food that will keep bought, freezer full to busrting so not so much to do Christmas week just fresh stuff really. Has anyone else got treatmant Christmas week? Anyway I’ll go now trying to get through to benefits people as they are saying that they haven’t received my paperwork that was posted last week and wages nave stopped now so need tio sort it out, hope that I can get something. Thinking of you all Lesley xx
Hello Ladies.
Hooray, have just got internet after being without it for over a week!! So much catching up to do on here and on Facebook.
I will be back when I’ve read the last few pages, I could be a while!!!
Hope you are all keeping well and not struggling too much with the weather.
Gill xx
Bah Humbug Facebook !!
Cannot even sort out my MP3 player , ( still in box ) I think it´s just not having the time or the patience to sit down and actually try to do these things .Plus , the chap who does computer classes at Lux is a complete and utter nerd , quite apart from being the biggest pain in the bum to work with , so prissy !!
Really interesting reading all your posts now that Christmas is coming . Thats the time of the year when I do muisss not being in the UK , not too much inthe way of lights and things here , no carols .
All the nativu¡ity plays , takes me back to a very happy time when my boys were little , loved christmas then , still do , but it´s not the same.Like Sandra and Vickie , Never went to a nativity play that I did´nt cry through , or a carol service , find it very emotional. Even on the telly , when the little darlings are nothing to do with me , I can end up in tears . Wish I had one to go too.
Talking of nativity plays . Looking at your photo lesley , I thought , before i read it that you and OH were practising for your very own nativity with you as Mary and OH as Joseph , thoought how apprpriate it was .
You sounded so upbeat Vickie , then your last post was so sad . I had BC last christmas , so for me this is a far happier time than last year , but so many of you have this first christmas to go through since dx and it´s not nice at all is it ? Horrible thoughts all the time .Next year will be 100% better , belive me …or I´ll set my vampire yeti on you !!
Now i am going to say something that will proberbly sound totally stupid . How were you able to watch the results show at the same time as the actual programme Pam ? I thought you had a long time to phone in your vote , but if it´s the same evening then you don´t. Got me flummouxed . Glad you enjoyed it , soiunds absolutely wonderful . Have to say Vickie , your night at the theatre sounded dire , what an awful miserable choice of play . I think I´d rather have my fingernails pulled out one at a time with rusty pliers .
How was the skiing Maria . You´re very brave . I used to live in the foothills of the Pyrenees , only 40 minutes from the slopes , but i never skied , OH did , I prefered the apre ski and the hot chocolate ! Always my stomach with me is´nt it ?
I will be thinking of you on Thursday Karen , lousy week , but once this lot is over you can go out there , kick some ass and find yourself a winner . Some men have no sense of timiong do they ?
Been raining all day , so I did my drying in the drier. I was folding some towels and while my back was turned , Jack ran off with one of the plastic things with knobs on that goes in my drier to make the clothes softer . I bought them from Lakeland , like two prickly balls , I´m a B***** for gadgets . Anyway they work , but they do look like his toys , so then I had to chase him all around the place to get it back , by which time it had teeth marks in it !! Still at least it was his teeth marks , not the unidentified biting creature !
In the butcher today to buy a chicken , ( damm thing is huge ! ) and the spanish were doing their usual trick of ignoring the numbers and pushing infront , the lady next to me , was all in black , and she said " I could really do without this today , I´ve just been to the crematorium with my father . " Poor soul , so I made sure she got served next , I´ve enough spanish to deal with queue jumpers if i want to , most times I´m not that bothered . Apparently the death had come as a complete shock to the family .
Cannot remember whose "father " has just been dx with lung cancer , but a lady here was dx this time last year , she´s been successfully treated with operation , chemo and I think rads , she was a non smoker. I think it´s a good sign when they decide to operate , so keep your chin up .
What a shame nell about your dates , it´s a real B***** is´nt it ? Perhaps you can get to your mil´s on new year day when you feel better able to cope with the travelling . Underdstand why you don´t want to postpone it though , you need to get it over and done with now don´t you .
Going to go and cook this monster chicken .
luv to you all ,
kangaX
