Embarking on an adventure, you are welcome to tag along

Hi Ladies going a bit dizzy trying to scroll through all the pages. Will return and do a posting perhaps tomorrow. Meanwhile my car is still at Gatwick, landed at Birmingham this am ( pilot told us after we landed where we were. At least he knew) and had to stay on plane for 1 hr as immigration and baggage too congested then got a coach to Heathrow OMG it’s so cold when did this happen? And a taxi home from there. I see lots of news and a new lady Liz has joined us, had not said where I was going as there was so much sad and bad news just as I was going away.
Came on briefly as you were my ‘security blanket’ on anniversary of Dx. Had a small wobble but in the main BC did not occupy my every waking thought as it has done.
So much to comment on and is there a Yeti in pinocchios larder? Sandra must have missed your pic of christening.
Well ladies now officially cream crackered love to you all and hugs. Will try to get up to speed soon.
Love to you all and hugs Jackie

Hi Ladies
We have snow ;0) well enough to make a 5" snowman!

Pleased you have landed safely Jackie, even if it wasn’t where you expected to land!!

Snowy hugs
Sandra xxx

wow…so many pages to catch up on and lots of sad posts.
had tears in my eyes at Sandras posts…hugs to you so much going on.
Nell…hope you feel better soon…you’re nearly done on the chemo
Karen…sorry to hear about your bleed…hopefully it will be something as simple as a water infection
Heather…hope you find out whats wrong with DH soon…must be a real worry.

Hugs to everyone else that I’ve not mentioned.

Myself…not been about as have had problems.

Went for rads planning but muscles were in spasm so couldn’t even lie on the bed so was sent away to see GP…was given diazepan and told to go back tuesday…which I did and had my rads planning…they had to stop halfway through to give me painkillers but eventually finished it…it was torture but now done.

Start my rads on the 9th dec and finish new years eve…will be glad when it’s all over.

just want some normality back in my life

Hi Ladies
We have a little snow; son is hoping for more so school closes but not enough to make a snowman, well perhaps we could manage a minature one.

Had my peachy on Tuesday, and just duveting it now and just popped on to read and say quick Hi… Bike is tucked away in the garage and will probably be spring now before we can get out on it again :frowning:

Thanks for all your well wishes, Hope everybody is coping well with all the emotions and pressures the season brings!

Maria, thinking of you especially so in these coming weeks, and of course to all you other ladies who have experienced so much heartache during this past year,

Keep smiling Ladies, We will get there…

Love Nell xx

Hi, Ladies
welcome home Jackie, bet the weather was a bit of a shock, hope you had a wonderful holiday.
Nell, it will be over soon, one more to go?
love your snowman, Sandra, did you or the GC build it?
Isabell, just send them out in the snow, that should wear them out!!
will be glad of weekend off Rads but got my first Herceptin on Sat, not looking forward to that, got to hang around for 41/2 hours after in case I get a reaction. going with a crosswords and books.
Kanga, found your creature yet?
heather, you had better stay away from the snow with your record! hope you are feeling better.
Karen, Maria and all, sending Hugs

Carolxx

Carol, Yes one more to go! Gosh hope it goes well with the Herceptin for you, long time there too, take an mp3 too!
Anne, Hopefully getting there, slowly but surely…

Nell x

Hey Little Nell, I love the photo. The weather is just right for a duvet day (or duvet week) Thankyou for your thoughts just now
Carol, I wonder if Santa IS allowed to come down chimneys anymore, there will be something in health and safety or political correctness that will soon ban him doing anything exiting.
Isabelle, goodness, snowed in with grand kids. I do hope they are good with their granny, you must be exhausted.
Anne, sorry to hear about your muscle spasms, why was your rads planning so painful ? Normal, what is normal ? But I do know what you mean
Sandra, love the snowman, but who made it ?
Jackie, what a shock for you to come back to all the snow. Thank goodness you are back safely with, I hope, some wonderful holiday memories.
Jill, I know what you mean about getting plenty of exercise clearing snow, I’m glad I am not back at work yet either
Kirsty, have you found your spikes yet ?
Vicky, hope you managed to sleep with the help of sledging and bailey’s
Kris, have you found your yeti yet ? Do you have snow ?
Heather, hope all is well with you and yours
Karen, hope you are OK too.

I’ve got an appointment with my onc tomorrow, why am I scared all of a sudden ?
Hugs to everyone.
Maria

ell, what a sweet young lady!! not suggesting you are a sweet old lady now!! don’t posses an MP3 player but have text son to see if he has one he can lend his old mother.

Maria, gone are the days of flying from roof to roof, Santa, not me, well, depends how much sherry I’ve had! good luck tomorrow

Carolxx

Hi Ladies,
I made the snowman! thought l would surprise the gc when they came home from school, they laughed their little heads off at my effort!!

Maria, Good luck with the onc tomorrow, think we will always be nervous about our hospital appointments! l know l am!
As for Santa! l have a chimney, but sadly no fireplace, grandchildren concerned if he goes down, he will have no way out! hate to think of him stuck there. So told oh he will have to get up on the roof to put a sign for Santa, No Entrance! then grandsons want the window or door left open so he doesn’t miss them!! well lets hope they are home by christmas!! because no way am l having doors or windows open!
They are going home tomorrow for the weekend, l am missing them already!

Carol, Oh lots of luck with your first herceptin, 4 and a half hours!! take all your pressies, you can wrap them while you are waiting!
Has your skye man installed you yet?

Jill, Walked to Sainsburys!! think l would have given them a ring and asked them to deliver!

Jackie, still reading or catching up with your washing and ironing? is your car still at Gatwick? what an absolute pain!
Well done on your anniversary, hope the wobble has gone!
Are you on facebook? that is where my photo’s are, mine didn’t come out, like a silly old fool l had my camera on the wrong setting! so had to rely on others!

Anne
Muscle spasm sound awful! you must have been in an awful lot of pain!
Yes it is good to have the treatment out of the way!

Nell, what a cute little girl you were and what a cute old girl you are! NO! l take that back, you can’t be ‘old’ you are younger than me!!! so what a cute mature lady you are!! there that is better!

Isabelle,
All that lovely snow and big fields, what more could boys ask for?
A whole week off work, snowbound and looking after children how lovely!

Most of our snow has gone, but we managed to find some on the tennis courts, so we played snowballs after school, me, dil and two grandsons, all got soaking wet, l said “ok, lets go home” eldest gs said “hold my hand grandma” l turned round to hold his hand…smack…he threw a snowball straight in my face! dil and youngest nearly wet themselves laughing, eldest gs has never run so fast!!!

Snuggly Hugs

Hi everyone

just a quick check in. Been looking after my friends children today as schools shut. Had s great fun day! Sledging all afternoon then had roasted some lamb so had hot roast lamb butties followed by warm mince pies and cream for tea, washed down with bottle green spiced berry hot drink. Mmmm what a christmassy wintery day!

The Tesco on line slots are open up to 22 dec, have just grabbed my slot. Letting u know in case u r feeling rubbish for shopping. Tho think those over the other side of the channel may struggle!!

Vickie

Forgot to say “huge well done gill!!!”"

Well done Gill on finishing rads!

Love the snowman Sandra, really don’t know how you do it!

Knitting a hat at the moment and that’s all I’ve got the energy for!!

Nell xx

Hi Ladies,
Well done Gill! another step over and done with!
Hope the tiredness wears off soon!

Nell, I think perhaps your hat took more energy than my ‘little’ 5 inch snowman!!

Maria, Thinking of you today!

Sandra xxxx

Hi just a quickie will come back later.
Gill thought you must be near the end of rads- Well done
Maria thinking of you hope the appt goes really well.Hugs
Nell what a stunner you are.
Love the snowman Sandra looks bigger than 5 inches though.
Love and hugs to all Jackie

Hi Girls , been busy the last few days , and away in Gib yesterday , soooo much to catch up on . My OH has been using this computer instead of his and it´s all changed , and I hate what he´s done and have no idea how to get it all back to what it was …MEN !!!
Sorry you´ve got to go for a liver scan Nell , I´ve had two so far .Thankfully both were clear of any nasties ,but my liver is still not what it should be . I´m now in the process of waiting to see a cardiologist , have had two ECG´s in the last week and my doc is not happy with them , so I now have an appointment for the 23rd December . Honestly there truly is always something !So thats Jill with her appointment on 22nd ( Eldest son´s b´day ) me on 23rd , any advance on that ladies ?
Ann , your rads planning sounded a nightmare , hope they give you enough pills so that your muscles don´t go into spasm every time you go . Are you prone to that sort of thing ? I know I now get cramps so often , never used to at all .
I think Jackie you were very lucky to land at all ! Bet you wish you could have gone back . Did you enjoy your holiday ?
Karen , when is your scan ? You really are going through the mill , last thing you want on top of everything else is´nt it ?
My sister used to teach at a private boarding school at Sibford Ferris Heather , so I used to go to Banbury quite often as that was the nearest town . Lovely part of the country , but very expensive .
Well I belong to the Strictly / X factor viewers, although I must say , the X factor this year has´nt the appeal for ,me that last year ´s show had , was´nt over impressed with the talent , and some of the best has gone . Love Strictly , the dresses , the singing , but wish they had not changed the judging from them having the last word as the final two did a dance off , and always prefer Arline to Alesha as a judge .Lucky you Pam , very envious .
At the moment we only have snow on the mountain behind us , but it is cold here brrrr. Mainly because our houses are built to keep out the heat of the summer .We have no central heating , only heat in the living room and the kitchen , all other rooms are unheated , so we wrap up warm . I´m sat here , the sun is out , but it´s only about 9degrees , in here it´s freezing , I have two fleeces on and I´m typing with fingerless gloves, Jack is under a fleecy blanket at my feet .However i do accept that we are not having anything like you .
Rats , Vampires , Yeti …At the moment , all is peaceful in the garage . Have had numerous traps down now for days …nothing , not a hint of creature can I find . Some of the traps have gone off more than once and the cheese has gone ( a particually tasty gruyere ) no tiny little footprints , or trails of crumbs . I tell you these creatures are not of this world …mingle mangle …mingle mangle … They must be getting bigger . They might be trying to get their strengh up so that they can tackle the food cupboard in the kitchen . Probably eat their way through the wooden back door .
Perhaps they are Santa´s Little Helpers , they might be practising for christmas eve , although we have a big fireplace they could absail down .Perhaps they are only collecting all this food prior to bringing it all back to us ,ready cooked for christmas day . Would´nt that be a nice suprise ?
I´m going off now to see if I can extract Oh from wherever he is and ask nicely if he can put my computer back as he found it , otherwise I´m going to kill him …nicely !!
love to you all
Kanga

Youpee, no more doctors to see until March 2011, all was fine. Didn’t even need a blood test as all was OK 6 weeks ago. Starting back to work at 25% (2 half days a week) on the 10th of January for 2 weeks then if all goes OK 50% until my next check up in March. I can now look forward to Christmas.

Kanga, you cannot get away with killing oh, you have written it in black and white here, so it will be premeditated. It sounds cold at your place. Sorry to hear you have problems with your heart, at least we know it is the right place.
Gill, another corner turned on your journey, well done, don’t forget to rest now
Vickie, well done for looking after everyone elses kids, Don’t do too much now, silly thing to say to a Mum, I know…
Sandra, I hope the gc appreciated your snowman, we do anyway. My son loves to throw snowballs at me, and he doesn’r often miss.
Carol, make mine a g+t, not too fond of sherry
Little Nell, Take care of yourself now, no snow shovelling, or the tax truck and 2 trailers will arrive.
Hi Jackie

Well maybe I can make you all jealous. Here, the snow has not come in vain. Tomorrow I am going skiing, just a couple of hours, nothing strenous , Son is soooo exited, he loves it. Then I go and pick up PFDIL, who is coming for the weekend, but she does not ski, so Sunday we will go sledging, there is a little place that has a lift to pull up the sledge. Hey a bit of normality back,
Hope all is OK with everyone
Hugs
Maria

Hi

Just popping in. Maria, enjoy your winter sports weekend! So pleased you have a timetable easing you back into life. I know I was so worried about never feeling like myself again but I really do, at themoment, not to tempt fate, knock on wood. It might be different if I was already back at work buti don’t go back til April 2012, tho even then it’s extendable by another two years. The benefits of working for the civil service! By April 2012 my youngest will have done most of his reception year and iprob will want to do something myself. I work 3 days a week but not school hours. I really love being off though and being here for the boys and not sure I want the complicating issues of after school clubs or relying on and knackering out grandmas and grandads. And then school holidays! Hopefully my health will be good and this bc cr@p will be self contained in 2010 so I will be able to make z normal decision.

The boys are out at my sisters as I went out with my friends from work last night in Manchester and my husband iwas on his works Xmas do. He went indoor skydiving then out on the town. Can’t wait to try the skydiving, he said it was brill! I love stuff like that. Did quad biking and pdintballing for my hen do and quad biking and archery for my 30th birthday. Having the boys put paid to some of that as spent a good proportion if my thirties pregnant or with young bAby and breast feeding, plus I had symphisis pubis disorder both times which hasn’t really ever totally settled so pelvis a bit dodgy still.

I went for Spanish tapas meal then to see the baccies(sp? Can’t remember!) at the royal exchange. It’s a Greek tragedy by euripedes. All I can say is it’s the best version of it I have ever seen!!! But it’s also the only version I have seen and was odd, confusing and v arty with lots of wailing women, mothers killing sons who are kings whilst king is dressed as a woman after being taken over by Dionysus the not very nice demi god of wine. It was
lovely to catch up with work girls but we are not letting rebecca choose the play next time!!!

Gonna do some ironing now as boys aren’t here so can watch my telly programmes while I do! Then off to buy jamie some Nike hi top trainers for his street dancing. He had an occasional day yesterday so me and him went shopping, was lively as I font get to downs one on one rime with him as much aS he is in school. Image him try on trainers with the lie that he needed his feet measuring so I could check his x hool shoes still fitted. Poor five year old totally didn’t see the lack of logic in that and just trusted me niavely. Whispered conversation to the bemused but lovely teenager serving us, and now mummy back off into Ashton to buy them from behind the counter so they can go to father Christmas! Got to repeat the charade all over again on Monday to get a pair for his little brother!

Putting our tree up tmrw. Off to uppermill for their annual lights switch on thus afternoon. Huge procession with father Christmas and reindeers, always involves a bag of chips eaten outside for our fAmily! Snow boots and sslopettes are ready are waiting!

Oops , quick post turned into essay! Nobody to talk to, husband v asleep as v drunk last night. I drove so feel fine!

Take care everyone, love to you all having tests etc. I am blanking bc as much as poss at the moment but feel sick at thought of check up on Thursday. But got nativities snd Christmas concerts before then to enjoy! Come see me on facebook, am trying to just read this thread mainly and then do fb rather than bcc forum in effort yo move forwards a bit…!!!

Love to all, think about everyone a lot even tho haven’t met
most of you! Find myself thinking, ooh should tell sandra about that for her grandsons or look at that , that’s a really heather thing to do!
